A Fool's Revenge.

Overtime.

I woke up with a brutal splitting headache. I rolled out of bed and let Mittens out his crate. We both walked down to the kitchen; him for food and to go to the bathroom and I just wanted some coffee and something to relieve the pain in my head. I grabbed the painkillers in the cabinet and gulped them down followed by a sip of my coffee.

I sat at the table cradling my head in my hands when I suddenly remembered the phone calls I received last night. Something caught my eye outside while I was thinking of what to do with the dumbass brothers. I chuckled when I saw a handful of people strewn all over my backyard.

Some of them still had drinks in their hands. I heard the stairs creak and I turned to see a zombie-like Josh. I got up, made him coffee and handed him some painkillers to get rid of the obvious hangover he was suffering from.

“You’re an angel.” He mumbled before taking the pills with a sip of coffee while I just sat back down. I let the painkillers take effect before I pointed to the sliding glass doors to the groggy people just starting to wake up.

“Well, Looks like Benny boy had a good time.” I said with sarcasm and he just glared at me.

“The bottle is next to the coffee.” Josh said while holding back a laugh. We watched as a few people came in and made coffee and either sat on the floor, counter or at the table with us. It was comical really. I excused myself to grab my laptop because I had to get shit done with Vic and Mike. It would be over with, hopefully, tomorrow but I had to do one thing first.

“What are you doing?” Danny asked from the floor and everyone looked at me while I typed away at my computer.

“I’m booking a flight to….” I glanced at the schedule Jaime sent me last night. “Hartford” I booked the flight and made a group text to Jaime and Tony telling them I would see them in a few days and not to say anything about it.

“In Connecticut? Why the fuck are you going there?” Ben asked with a certain bitchiness that I was not having this morning.

“Well, for your information, my boyfriend and his brother are apparently in a huge fight and not talking and I have to fix it.” I said with twice as much snap as he had previously.

“Why are they fighting?” Josh asked timidly.

“I don’t know. Jaime called me last night and told me they were fighting. Neither he nor Tony know why. They won’t tell them.” I shrugged.

“Well, I’m not letting you go alone, book me a ticket too.” Josh said with a concerned look but I shook my head.

“Someone has to watch the animals while I’m gone.” He rolled his eyes and glanced at Ben and Danny.

“We’ll stay here and look after them. You’re only gonna be gone a few days max.” Ben said.

“Yeah, we can actually be really responsible when we have to be.” Danny added.

“Do you guys swear that you won’t wreck my house or let my animals die?” I asked with pleading eyes because honestly, I didn’t want to go alone either.

“Yes. We swear.” They said in unison. I nodded and booked two tickets to Connecticut for the day before they were supposed to be there along with a hotel room.

“Alright. We leave in two days.” I said and closed my laptop. He nodded and we all chatted for a while, just bullshitting about life.

I let the guys take a quick shower before telling them to leave. I took a shower and practically dragged Josh into the car when he was ready.

“Where are we going?” he said with a bewildered look and I chuckled.

“To pick up Layla!” I was so excited that I was able to pick her up today. I had her cute Tie-Dye collar, leash and bandana. I had all of her stuff set up all over the house. I was just excited for a puppy.

We pulled up to the shelter and I skipped to the door while Josh laughed at how excited I was.

“Hey Lyci! I’m here to get my little princess.” She giggled.

“I’ll go get her. Oh, did you bring a leash?” I smiled like the Cheshire cat.

“And a collar.” she took them both from me then disappeared into the back kennels. She soon came out with a prancing excited puppy. I squealed a little and Josh burst out laughing. I just scowled at him and stick my tongue out before picking up my little girl.

“Ok, we got her house broken and she’s really great on a leash and loves to play. I’m so glad she got a great home.” Alycia smiled and gently stroked the cute pup.

“She’s in very good hands.” Josh said with a bright smile.

We chatted for a few minutes and then we had to leave. I still had to pick up food and toys for her so she would chew up my whole house. We did that and went home to relax. We both still felt terrible but Layla was a perfect distraction from our hangovers.
We got home and just played with Layla and Mittens for the rest of the day before calling it a night.

**Two days later**

I woke up and got ready. I pack a small duffle bag full of clothes. I was only leaving for a few days, I really didn’t need that much stuff.

Danny and Ben would be here soon. Ben was going to drive Josh and I to the airport. I had my coffee and fixed Josh’s while he was still getting ready.

I heard knocks at my door and I let Danny and Ben in who were soon greeted my Layla and Mittens. Both guys laughed as they played with the two adorable attackers. I made them both cups of coffee and they actually brought us donuts. Josh finally came down and tried to snag the only strawberry frosted sprinkled donuts but I slapped his hand away.

“Dude, she’ll bite your hand off for her strawberry donuts.” Ben chuckled and Danny nodded in agreement.

I giggled while Josh just frowned. It was quite a comical morning before we left. It didn’t last long though. The mood soon sobered out as it got closer to us leaving. I was nervous and I just wanted to get it over with already. It was more stress than I really needed in my life but I guess being the person who can bring people together has responsibilities too.

I said goodbye to Mittens and Layla, I cried but I was just trying to let out a bit of my frustrations rather than being sad over leaving my animals. The three guys wouldn’t know the difference so it was okay.

“It’s okay. You’ll be back soon to see them.” Danny said as he hugged me and I just nodded. I calmed myself down enough to leave the house. I kept my tears in until we said goodbye to Ben.

As Josh and I waited to board our plane, I broke down. I had so much on my plate right now. I had to face my boyfriend who has broken my heart on numerous occasions but also made me feel more loved than I ever had and I also have to face my bestfriend who has been there through it all and to add even more, I have to bring the two of them together because they are fighting and letting that play a role in how their shows go.

“Jayme, shh, it’s gonna be okay.” Josh cooed and tried to calm me down but I wasn’t having any of it.

“No, it’s never gonna be okay. This always happens. Whenever I get my life to go right, something happens to ruin EVERYTHING! I can never win. I’ll never win.” I whimpered out. I wanted to yell and scream out all of my frustrations but that’s hard to do when you’re in an airport.

FLIGHT 139 TO HARTFORD IS NOW BOARDING
the voice called over the loud speaker inside the terminals. I wiped away my tears and got up and followed Josh to the plane.
While we went through the same shit with flight safety and all that bs, I was planning. I could feel my eyes getting heavy and I asked the stewardess for a pillow and I fell asleep for the rest of the flight.

I woke up as soon as we hit the ground. I was happy to have slept through the flight because I would have just freaked out and cried most of the time.

I felt like a zombie; as if all of my emotions had been drained from my body. We still had apparently, an hour till we got to our hotel in Wallingford. I was more than ready to just take a shower and pass the fuck out.

“I’m so tired.” Josh mumbled as we pulled up to the hotel. It was a little out of the way from the venue but we could still walk to it if we wanted to. I had actually rented us a car from the Hertz across the street so we could do some exploring tomorrow because we had a full day before they would even get into the state.

We checked in and trudged our way to the room. I called Danny to let them know we got here okay and to make sure they weren’t fucking up my house or animals. Thankfully, they were just drinking together and playing videogames while the animals were sleeping. At least that’s what they said but I could hear the Wii Play going in the background so I believed it.

I decided against taking a shower so Josh could because it’s an eight hour flight and it was just rounding ten at night so we were both pretty tired. I was just too drained to take a shower.

I changed into my pajamas and slipped under the cool crisp comforter and sighed contently. Josh soon came out of the shower in his lounge pants and did the same thing.

“Josh…” I mumbled with my face half buried into the soft pillows.

“Yeah, Jay?” Josh mumbled also.

“Thank you for coming with me. I don’t know what I would do if I was by myself.” I said a little more clearly.

“No problem. I would never let you do this alone; even if I was back home I would still come with you.” He sighed and then the room fell quiet.

**One Day Later**

I woke up early to get ready and emotionally prepare myself for whatever I was in for later when I see the guys. The sun was barely coming up when I finished getting ready so I decided to sit out on the balcony and enjoy the sunrise.

I sighed contently as the colors gently changed throughout the sky. The sunrises weren’t as vibrant as they were back home but it was still nice to get away from life for even just a little while.

“Why the fuck are you up so damn early?” Josh mumbled from behind me as he rubbed the sleep from his eyes.

“I was anxious and I couldn’t go back to sleep so I just got ready.” I shrugged and he just shook his head and walked back inside. I stayed outside though; it was far too nice to just sit inside and wait for Josh to get ready.

It took him a good hour to just shower and throw some clothes on. Guys complain so much about girls taking forever to get ready when they seem to be the pokey ones.

“Are you ready yet? I’m hungry as fuck and if I’m gonna do this today, I need food!” I whined and he chuckled but nodded. We left the hotel and just drove around the unfamiliar town looking for a diner or something that caught our eyes for some breakfast.

“Let’s go there!” Josh pointed.

“The Athena?” I asked and he practically screamed yes. I pulled into the almost empty lot and locked my car as we got out.

“I remember coming here once when we toured with ADTR. Their pancakes are fucking amazing!” Josh smiled joyously and I just chuckled. The waitress working look insanely surprised that anyone was here so early.

“Hello! Table for two?” we both nodded and she sat us near the front and whipped out her notepad.

“So, what can I get you two this morning?” she brightly and looked at us.

“Coffee please.” I said and just said he would have the same. She smiled again and handed us some menus and walked away to get us our drinks.

We both sat, scanning the breakfast menu for something delectable. I settle for salted caramel pancakes and Josh wanted chocolate chip pancakes. I chuckled when he told the waitress because he sounded like he was a little kid.

“So why are you so anxious about today?” he asked as the waitress walked away.

“I don’t know. I know nothing about what’s going on between the two of them or what I’m even getting myself into. I love the guys with all of my heart but sometimes they scare me. I honestly just feel like something sketchy is going on and when I found out, it’ll just be bad. Maybe I’m just overthinking it all.” I sighed and he rolled his eyes.

“I’m one hundred and ten percent sure you’re over thinking. I’ll bet it’s just be a stupid fight and an easy fix.” He said brushing it off like it was nothing so I just nodded instead of going on further about my uneasiness on the situation at hand. Josh didn’t hear the way Jaime asked me for help or the helplessness in his voice when he first told me about it.

We ate and chatted about random things going on for the future until we were stuffed. Josh was right; the pancakes here were amazing and amazingly filling. We decided to just go to the venue to see if anyone was there now and to our luck, the buss were there along with a few cars in the lot.

We got out of the car and the venue was amazing looking. It was clean and actually pretty unlike most venues I’ve visited.

“I know. Just wait until you go inside. It’s even nicer in there.” Josh said as he looked at my mesmerized face.

I whipped my phone out and made a call which was gladly picked up.

“Hey, come outside and bring Tony.” I said gleefully and Jaime just agreed and I heard him waking Tony up which it sounded like he hit Jaime then he hung up. I heard a door shut and Josh and I started walking towards our friends.

“Ahh! I missed you so much!” Jaime said while he scooped me up in a twirling hug. I giggled and said the same just before running into Tony. We exchanged excited hugs and laughed before walking over to the park looking area.

“I can’t believe you guys still have another two months after this. It’s so lonely at home without you all being at my house when I get out of work.” I sighed sadfully because it was true. I was lonely and sad. If it wasn’t for the occasional visit from friends, I would probably go insane.

“I know but like we said before we left, it’ll go by quick and before you know it we’ll be annoying you again.” Tony said light heartedly and I chuckled but shook my head.

“The only thing that’ll make it go quick are my new little friends.” I said with a laugh while Tony and Jaime look utterly confused.

“Oh, I got a kitten and a puppy to keep me busy when you guys go on tour.” I whipped my phone out like the proud mommy I was and they just awed together. Josh and I just laughed as they scrolled through the numerous pictures I had of Mittens and the few of Layla while ogling over them.

“Now I can’t wait for us to get home so I can steal them!” Jaime whined and we all laughed.

“Mike is gonna freak out in the best way.” Tony said as he handed my phone back.
“Oh, I know.” I rolled my eyes but smiled. I was genuinely happy to be reunited with friends again. Not to say that I didn’t appreciate Josh being here but there was a special bond with me and these guys.

“We should probably get back before Vic comes looking for us. We have sound check in a little bit, why don’t you surprise them by being there? We’ll tell the people inside to let you in.” Tony suggested and Jaime nodded in agreement. I just looked at Josh nervously but I agreed too.

“Might as well get it over with sooner than later.” I sighed with a slight smile.
We all got up and walked into the building. Jaime spoke to the security guard and person at the window to give us special wristbands so we could leave and come back. They were shiny and gold colored.

“Well, we’ll see you in a little bit. Okay?” Tony and Jaime exchanged nervous glances but we nodded and they walked away.

“Well, now what?” Josh said as we walked out of the doors and parted ways with the guys.

“I don’t know. Wanna just go get something to drink and plan something out to really throw Vic and Mike for a trip? If I’m gonna surprise them I might as well make it fun for myself.” He nodded excitedly and we went back inside with ambition.

We went to concession stand and got two redbulls and tried plan something quick because their sound check was in ten minutes.

“How about you hid behind the curtain and when they get on stage they’ll freak out!” Josh said as we sat pondering what to do.

“That’s a little obvious though. They’ll see me right away.” I sighed.

“How about you hide on the other side of the cases so only Tony will see then pop up behind Mike and freak him out?” I looked at him and nodded my head sadistically.

“That could work.” I smiled devilishly.

“Well, hurry up because here they come!” he said and we both scurried away to get into place. I could just barely see Josh behind the left side curtain and he okayed me making sure I was able to get behind Mike without being seen by him. I quickly made up a plan in my head and I decided to wait until they were halfway through the first song to make my move.

Normally, I would hear laughter and jokes when they came in for their sound checks but there was just a tense lingering silence over the venue.

I listened as they started to play Bulls in the Bronx and I started to get too into it to the point where I wanted to burst out singing. As they got to the second chorus I checked with Josh to make sure I was good to go and he gave me a quick thumbs up and I quickly moved like a ninja and got behind Mike.

I was trying hard not to get hit my one of his furiously moving arms and dangerous drumsticks. They finished the song and that’s when I moved again. I started kissing Mike’s neck and he instantly screamed. I wasn’t expecting that so when he freaked I stumbled back and fell two feet to the floor on my ass. He looked like he saw a ghost.

“Surprise!” I said from the floor as the rest of the guys. Vic looked super happy to see me while my boyfriend still looked shocked.

“Jayme, what the hell are you doing here?!” Vic said happily as he helped me back up.

“I decided to take a trip.” I said and Josh popped out of the corner. “And I came with!” he said and gave Vic a quick hug along with my now not so shocked boyfriend.

“I missed you so much.” Mike said as he grabbed a hold of me and kissed me. He was crying too. I could feel the slight wetness between our faces and heard a little scoff from the background.

“You guys should probably finish sound check. I don’t want you to get yelled at. We’ll just go to the bus and wait for you. Maybe we can all go out to lunch or something?” I said and they nodded. Josh and I left them to their business and walked to the bus lot.

As always, the bus was clean thanks to Vic and his slight OCD-ness. We sat in the front lounge and were mostly quiet. a little this or that just to break the silence.
The boys finally came back and in exchange for Josh and mines weird silence we got a tense one from all of the boys. They all sat in the front lounge with us and bullshitted for a little while.

“Can I talk to you?” Mike whispered in my ear and he pulled me off to the back lounge and shut the door.

“What is it?” I asked with false happiness.

“Why are you here? I don’t want to sound mean, I love that you’re here but why fly all the way to the other coast?” he sighed and looked me dead in the eyes.

“Honestly, Jaime called me and said you and Vic were fighting and not talking. He wanted me to help because he and Tony didn’t know what to do.” I said nervously not sure on how he would react. He just hung his head shamefully.

“So what happened?” I asked hesitantly and made him look at me.

“You should talk to Vic first, not me.” he said before getting up and leaving the room soon to be replaced by his brother.

“Hey, uh, Mike said you wanted to talk to me.” Vic said as he sat across from me.

“Well, he told me I should.” I said with a shrug. I could feel my hands starting to sweat from the nerves that coursed through my body. He just looked at me with a slightly scared but shocked expression and nodded.

“So, what’s going on with you two? Why aren’t you talking?” I asked to just get it over with and not ramble.

“It’s nothing.” He said waving it off but not playing it off well enough for me to leave it alone.

“Now that’s a damn lie. You and I both know that I wouldn’t have come all the way out here over nothing. I’ve known you long enough to know when you’re lying. You might as well just tell me so we can get this over and done with.” I sighed. I didn’t want to play this stupid cat and mouse game of trying to figure out what in the fuck was going on.

“Mike!” he yelled and Mike walked back in. I glared between the two boys and instead of a tense silence, there was a nervous one. Mike sat near his brother and they just looked at each other then back at me.

“Ok, now that we’re all here, NOW can I know why the fuck I got upset phone calls from your own bandmates saying you two weren’t talking?” I said getting frustrated at this point. They looked at each other again and didn’t answer me.

“Seriously? Now I’m getting pissed. I had to come here to sort out shit between the two of you and now you won’t talk? One of you better fucking tell me or I’m done.” I sneered and sat back waiting for one of them to speak.

“IToldMikeIStillLoveYou” Vic blurted out and Mike looked insanely pissed.

“What?”

“He told me he still fucking loves you and that I don’t deserve someone as amazing as you. That’s why we’re not talking. I also punched him in the face for saying it.” Mike snapped and folded his arms over his chest and looked away.

I sat there in pure shock. I didn’t know what to say. What do you even say about this? I sat there just completely baffled and I looked for the right thing to say but it was so hard when your mind was racing a mile a minute.

“Ok… Vic, I appreciate how concerned you are but you’re pretty much my brother… and that’s all you’ll ever really be to me. You’ve always been there for me when things went wrong and granted most of the time it was because of Mike but I really thought we got over this.” I mumbled. It was harsh but it had to be said.

“And Mike, I love you with all my heart but in some ways, your brother is right. Most of our ‘relationship’ you didn’t deserve someone like me and I didn’t deserve someone like you. Like I’ve always said, we’re always gonna be in a vicious cycle of hurting each other and then making up. I love you through it all even if sometimes I don’t want to.” I paused with a chuckle.

“But just because Vic said something careless and said his real feelings does not make it okay to hit him. I hate that part of you sometimes; the part that holds all the anger and the vicious temper you have.” I said while sniffling. I was trying not to break down. I was so caught up and I didn’t know what to do next.

“Hey, it’s okay. Babe come here.” Mike said and reached out for me but I pushed him away.

“It’s not okay. I love you both so much and I knew how you felt, Vic, but like everyone including yourself has always said, I will always choose Mike. I love you like the brother and best friend I never really had. I can’t lose that over stupid feelings!”

“I know that we’ll never be together like that but it really just came out after we found out what he did.” Vic said shamefully.

“In all honesty Vic, what he did wasn’t that bad. I was hurt but it could have been worse.” I said with a sigh as I continued to hold back the tears.

“I know it wasn’t that bad but I hate that he does that too you. He hates that he does that too you! It’s so frustrating to see him hurt you and you always forgiving him for it!” Vic huffed and started to tear up. Mike just stayed quiet though.

“I hate it too but it’s just the way it is and one day you’ll see why I do it. I love the dumbass with all of my fucked up heart and I don’t think that’ll ever change.” I chuckled and I got a small smile out of both of the brothers.

We sat there, all just holding back tears until I hugged them both. That’s when we just let it all out. It was a bittersweet moment.

“I’m so sorry for all of the shit I have ever out you though.” Mike cried into my shoulder and I just nodded because I was choking up. We all calmed ourselves down and wiped away the tears.

“So, is this over with? Are you two good now?” I asked while wiping away my raccoon eyes. they both nodded and I shook my head and laughed a bit.

“C’mon, I’ll be Momma F for a second, give each other a hug to make it all better!” we all laughed and they gave each other a big brotherly hug.

We fully calmed down and walked back out to the front. I gave Jaime a little thumbs up and sat down.

“So, anybody hungry?” I asked hopeful for a yes because crying and solving brother issues made me extremely hungry. They nodded and we all walked down the street to a place Vic liked. It was just a food truck he saw on their way to the venue but it smelled amazing!

We ordered and sat at the wooden picnic table to eat. It was fun without the tension. The food was a mix of Mexican and Puerto Rican. It was delicious but by the time we finished we didn’t want to walk back to the venue.

When we got there, we all had enough time to take a quick nap but decided against it because we would all probably over sleep and ignore their tour manager when he told us to get up.

“I have so much shit for you.” Mike said with a chuckle.

“I’m pretty sure fans gave him just as much stuff for you as he gets for himself.” Tony chuckled and I smiled.

“Your fans just like me better than you!” I stuck my tongue out and laughed and he just rolled his eyes.

When we got to the bus he showed me all of the stuff his fans gave him for me and it was baffling. I told him to just mail it all home before he leaves the US. He just laughed and shook his head.

“I have something special for you actually.” He smiled and brought me inside and to his bunk. He pulled out a little black box from underneath his pillow and handed it too me.

“I was gonna wait until Christmas to give it too you but since you’re here..” he smiled nervously and I opened the box with a gasp.

“Mike, it’s beautiful!” I squealed. He had gotten me a golden heart shaped locket with our names engraved on the front and inside was our pictures kissing each other. It was by far the most thoughtful present I have ever gotten.

“I have a surprise for you too actually.” I said as I pulled out my phone and he looked at me strangely. I handed him the phone and he smiled widely.

“It’s for both of us really.” I chuckled and he laughed too.
“They are so cute. I can’t wait to get home and be with them and you.” He smiled and hugged me.

We walked back out to the front and bullshitted until it was time for the show to begin. I was happy to see everyone getting along again and even more happy to see them on stage again.
While they warmed up, Josh and I watched the other bands play.

“All is restored in the world. Jayme saves the day again.” Josh said playfully and I rolled my eyes.

I watched as the boys got ready to take the stage. Mike was the first one to come to the stage and just before he ran out I gave him a kiss for good luck as I always did before he went on.

I watched them play with such passion and it just made me happy. I could hear a few people yelling my name from the crowd so I just hid further into the stage because I knew what would happen when Vic heard them and sure as shit, he called me up.

“You guys really love her, huh?” Vic said as I got close and they screamed. I just awkwardly waved and laughed.

“I’m sure she’ll be with us later so you can meet her, right?” he looked at me with a hopeful smile as he put me on the spot. I just nodded and the crowd screamed with excitement. I laughed and he sent me back so they could finish their set.

“Damn girl.” Josh chuckled and I slapped his arm.
I watched the rest of the set and went back to the bus with the guys so they could clean up before they went to meet fans, me in tow.

Almost four hours later and bloodshot eyes from all the camera shutters and we were done. It was time for me and Josh to go.

“Come on guys! We gotta get moving!” their manager said from the bus before angrily shutting the door. The guys sighed sadly and looked at us.

“Call one of us when you get home. I’m glad you came here even if it was just because of Vic and Mike. We missed you.” Tony said quietly as he gave me a big hug.

“I missed you guys too. I can’t wait for you all to come home.” I gave him a final squeeze and moved on to Jaime.

“So, can we just take you with us or?” Jaime said while that exuberant smile that I loved so much.

“I have to go home. I left Ben and Danny in charge of the house and I can’t be gone too long.” I chuckled and Mike just screamed.

“You left those idiots in charge of our house?! And our kids?!” he chuckled and I blushed. He really said our house and called Layla and Mittens our kids. That was probably the cutest thing he’s ever said out of random.

“Yes. I trust them just because I have Mittens and Layla there. They both have animals of their own and they would never let anything happen to them.” I smiled and he nodded hesitantly.

I gave Jaime a huge squeeze and he thanked me for helping him and Tony sort this out. I just nodded and let him go.

“I’m gonna miss you, a lot. You’re always so fun to be around and always make things better.” Vic whispered in my ear with a sad tone striking his voice ever so slightly.

“I’m gonna miss you too but before you know it, you’ll be home again.” I smiled and let him go. I knew he was hurt by what I said earlier but I was glad that he understood.

Before I could even turn to Mike, he scooped me up and kissed me. it felt good to be in his arms again even if it was for just a short while. He always made me feel safe and while I knew we both had to leave each other again, it was a sweet moment while it lasted.

“I love you so much, Jayme. I can’t wait to be home with you and just have you in my arms every night.” He sighed and kept me close.

“I love you too Mike.” I mumbled sadly and let him go as his tour manager nearly blew a gasket while we were saying goodbye.

“You guys call me or text me. I get way too bored without you all bugging me all day. Have fun though.” I smiled and stood next to Josh as we began to part ways.

We watched as they got onto the bus and the bus drove away. I was starting to get used to seeing that now. It still killed me every time though.

Josh and I drove back to our hotel room to get some sleep before our flight in tomorrow and after talking to Josh and watching movies for about two hours, I silently cried myself to sleep and wished for these last weeks to go by quick.
