The Monster That Is Me

The Sound Of A Ghost

Eliza’s POV

“Okay!” I clapped my hands together “Austin is……”

“Gone.” Tino grunted. He kicked his feet causing the spiny chair to spin around. “I got him out the house just like you asked me to.”

I smiled happily “Yes! Okay that’s great!” I clapped my hands together earning weird glances from the remaining gentleman “Meeting is commenced.”

Phil reached over grabbing the back of Tino’s chair preventing it from spinning anymore. He turned his gaze to me “So what’s the point of calling this meeting anyway?”

“Well you remember when Tino stated that maybe if Austin talked to his deceased family that he may understand that their deaths weren’t his fought.” They all nodded “Well, that was a good idea.”

Tino jumped up throwing a fist in the air “I fucking knew it.”

“What?” Phil grabbed the man and yanked him back down into a sitting position. He looked at me in shock. “It’s a great idea that just can’t be…..done.”

I smirked “That’s what you think.” They looked at me with faces of bewilderment. I heaved a small sigh “Let me enlighten you gentlemen. You see there is ways…..magic that can raise the dead.”

“Are you fucking serious?” Alan gave me a look of uncertainty. I don’t necessarily blame him, its does seem quite absurd. “I mean raising the dead……isn’t that like impossible. Won’t they haunt you forever...”

“No!”

Alan stood up snapping his fingers “That’s what my grandma said.”

I bit my lip to stop myself from laughing. “Well, sorry but your granny was wrong princess.” He flopped back down onto the couch with a pout on his face. I chuckled. “Well anyway, I can summon Austin’s mom, sister and brother spirit. They can talk to him and tell him the truth you know.”

The biggest smile in the history of smiles graced Phil’s face “That’s an amazing idea.” Everyone else nodded in agreement. He scratched his head. “What exactly do you have to do to…summon the spirit?”

“I’m going to have to call my sister, who will subsequently bring my brother.” I looked between the guys “Do you guys mind?”

“No!” Tino shook his head “I speak for everyone when I say that we’ll do anything to help Austin get better.”

“I just want to make sure you understand what you’re getting into.” I thought back to my younger sister and brother “My siblings can be a handful.”

“They can’t be that bad.” Aaron smiled “If we can handle you then I’m sure we can handle them.”

I shrugged my shoulders “Maybe……just make sure you don’t look into my sister’s eyes.”

“Why?”

“She has the ability to….freeze people with her eyes.” Everyone’s eyes got wide when they heard the news as pure usual. “Yeah, she can’t exactly control the power yet. Her crush looked her in the eye and he stayed frozen for three weeks.”

They all nodded there head. Alan spoke “No lookie in her eyes….check.”

“Good” I looked at them with a smile “Oh, and my brother is the most sarcastic, cockiest bitch you’ll ever fucking meet, like you may feel the urge to shoot him in the brain with a silver bullet.”

“Oh just great….another Alan.” Aaron chuckled looking at the red head who was currently glaring at him

I laughed “So…..are you guys ready for me to call them?”

“Yeah!” Phil tossed me his phone “give them the call.”

I caught the phone in my hands with a raised eyebrow “I won’t need this.”

“How you gonna call them then?”

“You’ll see my friend.”

I took several steps back my eyes never leaving the confused group in front of me. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes. I had built up walls when I met Austin, a wall that pretty much prevented my family from being able to find me. In order to call my sister I’ll have to let the walls come down.

“I built you up, in a time of need. And through it all you’ve done a great deed.”

I opened my eyes to be met by a thick purple wall created solely by me. It was glowing, flashing a bright purple. It’s time to tear it down.

“Now is a time that I need to be found, so I’m allowing you, AntiBathory wall, to come crashing down.” The wall shattered. The bricks came tumbling down disintegrating just as they hit the floor until the whole wall was gone. I smiled at my success, now to call my sister. “Eliya!”

A bright orb appeared in front of me followed by my sister who was wearing the biggest smile ever. “OMG ELIZAAAAAAA!” She squeezed me into a big hug while jumping around in a circle. “OMG! HEY! HEY! HEY! BIG SIS HOW ARE YOU?”

I chuckled at the jumping bean in front of me “Hey Eliya.” I looked behind her and around before looking at her again. “Where’s Elijah?”

“He’s right behind me…”She turned around to see that he was not right behind her. She turned to me with a smile. “Un momento!” The orb flashed brightly and just like that my sister was gone.

“Wow! She does have a lot of energy.” Aaron commented with eyes that I couldn’t quite read. “Like does she ever stop moving?”

I laughed “No……but wait until you meet her twin brother. Complete opposite.”

The bright white flash of my sister’s orb appeared. “HIYA!”

She waved at the guys and the smile brightly waving back. Again Aaron had that look in his eyes. I furrowed my eyebrows, why does he keep looking like that? I’ll have to ask him about it later.

“Dammit Eliza! Is all your family fucking gorgeous?” Alan questioned eyeing the hyper child.

A blue flash appeared signaling that my brother had arrived “Yeah, tends to run in the family.”

“Really?” Alan questioned cocking an eyebrow at the man “Well what happened to you then?”

“DAMN ELIJAH HE JUST SLAYEDDDD YOUR ASS!” Eliya giggled. I smiled lightly at the sound of her laugh; I hadn’t realized how much I missed her until now. She turned to me with a smile. “I missed you too Eliza. I searched forever for you but couldn’t find you.”

“I told you she had a wall up blocking her power.” Elijah groaned plopping down on the couch. “We didn’t find her because she didn’t want to be found.”

My sister turned to me “Is that the reason?”

“Yeah……I just couldn’t risk Ma……or grandma finding me.” I gave her a small smile. “That would have been tragic, especially if they would have found me here.”

“True...” she nodded in understanding “Ma wouldn’t have been too happy.”

“Yeah…….she would look something like the little ginger right now.” Everyone’s attention turned to Alan who was pouting, his middle finger sprung from his hand and Elijah laughed. They made eye contact, lingering a little longer than what it should. I cleared my throat and my brother looked back at me. “So what’s the honor of you calling us up today?”

What’s going on here? I cocked an eyebrow at him but he just shrugged it off. I smirked a little “I need your help summoning a spirit.” Both of them looked at me with wide eyes. I rolled mine “Yes, I know we aren’t suppose to do it but I don’t care. Austin really needs to talk to his family.”

They glanced at each other before Elijah started speaking “Okay, we can help you. But if we get in trouble Eliza I swear I’ll kill you!”

“Yeah! Yeah! Whatever!” I grumble nodding my head. I grabbed both of their arms and yanked them towards my room “We’ll be back later guys.”

The walk to the room was silent, deadly silent. I was starting to wonder if maybe I shouldn’t have asked them to do this. Maybe they don’t want to do this and feel that I’m making them do it. I know that they are scared because unlike myself, they have to go back home after this. I stopped in my tracks and turned to look at them.

“Guys…..are you sure that you want to do this?”

Elijah’s eyes bore into my own “Does this mean a lot to you?”

“Yes, Austin needs some kind of closure. He feels that it’s his fought and it’s not. I don’t know what else to do besides to bring them back and let him talk to them for himself.” I sighed to myself “ I want him better.”

My sister just smiled at me. Suddenly five white candles and a sage stick appear in her hands. “If you want it, then we want it.”

“Seriously….. you guys could get in a lot of trouble if our parents find out.”

“You’re our sister Eliza and if you need us then we’re going to be there for you!” Elijah stated with a small smile. “You’re worth the risk.”

Eliya strolled into the room, followed by Elijah and lastly me. She carefully placed the five candles in a circle. She lit the sage stick and began to light the candles as she went. By the time she torched the last candle the room was dark. So dark, that you would never guess that it was ten in the morning. No sun penetrated through the windows, they had been casted out. I could sense the magic in the air, like particles of dust. Breathing it in and out sent chills through my body.

“Ready!” I questioned.

“Ready!” They said in unison

“Well let’s get summoning!”

I started the chant “Hear these words, hear my cry..” Elijah and Eliya joined in “Spirit from the other side. Come to me, I summon thee, Cross now the great divide.” The lights of the candles started to flicker. “Beloved spirits….Emily……Abigail…..and Andrew.” The air begun to chill as a cold wind swept through the room. “We seek your guidance, commune with us. And move among us”

The candle lights flickered out. We sat in a deadly silence, listening. Goose bumps pricked my arms and the hair on my back rose slightly.

“Did it work?” Eliya whispered staring into my eyes.

“I….I don’t know.” I ran my trembling hand through my hair. “ Maybe we didn’t do something right. Maybe we….” I paused as a weird feeling took over my body. Suddenly, it seemed that the temperature dropped lower and the pitch black darkness got even darker. “Hello!”

“Eliza…..” My brother murmured. He was trying to hide it but I heard the fear in his voice. “What is it?”

“Someone else is here.” I mumbled letting my eyes filter through the dark room. My pupils hadn’t quite adjusted to the darkness of the rooms so I couldn’t really see much. I looked desperately but still couldn’t see anything. “I know someone’s here.”

I was about to stop looking when my eyes finally landed in the corner of the room. I squinted a little, straining to see what was there. Finally, I made out three silhouettes. I gulped; I wanted to ask who was there. But I choose not to speak. Scratch that I couldn’t speak for I was afraid. We had definitely conjured the three spirits like we wanted but sometimes you conjure the wrong ones. I would definitely hate for them to be the wrong spirits.

“Hello.” I speak lowly

The lights of the candles suddenly flickered on. But they were no longer in a circle in the middle of the room like my sister had placed them. They were now placed in the corner, around the recently summoned.

In the back was a boy, he was a little on the tall side. He had brown hair so dark that you would easily mistake it for being black. He had freckles on his face and a charming smile. Beside the boy was a girl. She looked to be older than the boy. They shared similar features except her hair was an obvious brown with natural highlights. She had a gracious amount of tattoos, not completely covered, but I feel if she had lived longer she would have been.. Let’s just say she was beautiful.

But the person that was in front was the most mystifying. She was a older women, maybe in her mid to upper forties. Her hair split down the middle and cascaded perfectly down her side. She had bright hazel, green eyes that shinned brightly with generosity and purity. Her smile, her smile itself brightened up the room. All of the spirits skin glowed but hers stood out, she seems to have her own special gleam. Nothing but kindness radiated off of the stunning women and it didn’t take me long to realize who it was

“Hello Eliza. It’s a pleasure to finally meet you.”
