Guitars and Love

I sat on my bunk putting the things I needed to take with me in my backpack. I folded my suit and grabbed a few extra clothes and put it in the bag.
“What time does your flight leave?” Vic was standing next to my bunk.
“At four” I took a quick glance at my phone, it was already two.
“You have an hour, do you have everything?”
“Yeah I do, I thought you were going to bed?” I just realized how late it was and he was still up.
“I couldn’t sleep” He shrugged and walked over to the lounge area.
I hopped off my bunk and grabbed my bag and went over with him. I put the bag on the couch and sat next to it. Eleven hours, I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I reached in my pocket and pulled out the little black box. We’ll she say yes? Is all i think of when I look down at the ring.

“Nervous?” I felt Vic watching me.
I took off my hat and ran my hand through my hair. “A little”
“Don’t be, that girl loves you more than anything” He gave me a small smile.
I nodded “Just can’t help but wonder you know?”
“Well don’t let your mind wonder too much”
“I know”
“Oh did you tell them?”
“I called the guys already, I just needa talk to Katelynne” I reached in my pocket and pulled out my phone. “Do you have her number?”
“Nah, just call Kellin and ask him to pass it to her”
I nodded and scanned through my contacts. I pressed call and put the phone to my ear. Vic looked at me as I waited for an answer.
“Hello?” Kellin said with a laugh, I could hear other people talking in the background.
“Hey man, I didn’t think you guys would still be awake”
“We couldn’t sleep so we’re all just hanging out in the hotel”
“Okay, hey could I talk to Katelynne about that thing we talked about earlier?”
“Oh yeah, hold let me get Ash out of the room for a little bit” He whispered.
I could hear Jay laughing and then it sounded like the phone was being switched to someone else.
“Hello?”
“Hey Katelynne”
“Hi Tony, don’t worry I’m taking Ashley out for lunch tomorrow so you could get ready and stuff”
Okay is just me or do all the girls know when you’re going to tell them something.
“Okay thank you”
“No problem, what time are you landing?”
“Around three”
“Okay…”
I could hear Ashley questioning someone in the background.
“Hey Ashley’s back, I’ll see you soon” She whispered.
I smiled “Okay” and with that we hung up.
“Everything’s set” I looked over at Vic, who gave me a nod.
He got up and patted me on the shoulder, “Go get your girl” He winked at me and walked to the bunk area. “Ill see later, good luck bro” He went into his bunk.
“Thanks”
I leaned back on the couch, I looked over at my bag and grabbed out the ticket.

“Tony, tell me”
I grabbed her arm and pulled her onto the bus, and we sat down.
She looked at me, “So?”
“The dreams have been about me losing you” I looked down, thinking about the thought.
“Well you’re not gonna lose me, I promise. I love you too much to go anywhere”

“Tone, you ready?” Mike said snapping me out of my thoughts.
“Yeah” I got up from the couch and grabbed my bag.
We got off the bus and headed to our drum techs truck (Casey), he was already in there with the truck on. Mike took the passenger seat and I went to the back.
“Call us when she says yes” Mike looked back at me with a grin on his face.
I chuckled, “Yeah”
The ride to the airport was interesting; Mike and Casey keeping tell what to do and what not. It was funny cause they both sounded so professional about it.
“Is Adam meeting you there?” Casey took a quick glance at the mirror looking at me through it.
“Yeah, he’s there already”
He nodded as he made a turn into the lane leading to the airport. He stopped in the front and they both looked back at me.
“Good luck” They both said at the same time.
I smiled, “Thanks guys, I’ll see you guys later” I grabbed my bag and got out of the car.
I waved at them one last time before seeing them drive off. I walked in and went over to where my flight was and boarded the plane. I looked at me ticket for my seat number, I glanced around and found it. I put my bag on the top and then took a seat. As I waited I looked at my phone, I got a text from Ashley. It was a picture message, she was doing a silly face and it said thinking about you. I laughed, I loved when she sent me pictures like this, she always knows the right time to send them. I looked at it and noticed that after six years, she still has the guitar pick I gave her.

“Whats up Albuquerque!” Vic yelled into the mic.
I put my guitar to the side and smiled at the crowd that was going crazy.
“Alright, so who here has a birthday today”
As soon as he said that, hands flew up and people were screaming. I gave a look to Jaime and he laughed.
“Theres a lot of birthdays today, were gonna pick one lucky person to come up here with us”
I looked over at Vic who was scanning the crowed, this was gonna be interesting.
“Man, this is a tough one, hey Tony” Vic turned to me; I already know what he’s thinking.
He’s gonna make me pick, great. I gave him a nod.
“May you do the honors and pick”
I smiled because I was right, I scanned the crowed. There were so many people with their hands up; I’ll look for someone that looks like it’s actually their birthday. Then I locked eyes with a cute little brunette, who was jumping up and down with her hand in the air. There was something about her, that was telling me to pick her. I smiled and pointed at her, she stood there in shock, I let out a laugh. I watched as the security help onto the stage, where she met Vics hand. He led her to the chair and we all started singing Happy Birthday to her. She was so red it was cute.
“Okay Ashley, ive got one more song for you, but you gotta sing it with me” Vic said to her.
Ashley, hmm that’s a pretty name. Vic gave us a quick look and then started singing, and we playing along. After a good three songs we headed off the stage and to the tent. I wiped my face down and took a drink of my water. I grabbed my guitar pick and headed to where the guys were talking to her. Vic was bent over a shirt and a marker in his hands. Ashley stood standing there looking at him with her back faced to me. I tapped on her shoulder, she turned around and I smiled at her.
“Here” I handed her my guitar pick with a turtle on it. “Happy Birthday” I said still smiling at her.
She smiled “Thank you Tony”
“Tony Catch!” I saw him throw the maker and shirt; I caught it and signed it.
“Thank you guys so much, you’ve made my birthday the best I’ve had” She had the hugest smile on her face as she looked at us.
“No problem” Vic smiled at her.
“Can I have a picture please, I don’t mean to bug” She asked.
“Of course!” Mike yelled pulling her into a hug.
After she took a few pictures with the guys she came over to me. I put my arm over her shoulder and she pointed her phone in front of us.
“Smile!” She yelled.
She snapped the pic and gave me a hug before taking off. I went over next to Mike and took a seat on the chair.
“Good pick” he grinned at me.
I laughed and shook my head.
I smiled remembering the day I gave it to her. Wow she was still cute with brown hair. The flight attendant stood at the front of the plane and smiled at us before saying something. I decided not to pay attention to what she was saying because I already knew, it always the same thing just a different city. I looked out the window and watched as we got higher into the sky. The vibration from my phone made me jump; I looked down to see another picture message from Ashley. It was the one when I first met her, the day I gave her the pick. I swear, she’s like a psychic or something. At the bottom it said, Look what I found! :D I smiled and replied.
I was just thinking of that day J
I put my phone in my pocket, touching the black box as I did. I really hope everything goes as planned.

I opened the door for her and she smiled at me walking through. I shook my head and followed behind her.
“I already know what you’re gonna get” I grinned at her as we waited in line.
“What? How? Stalking me now Tone?” She smirked.
“Yeah, oh nice bra by the way” I winked at her.
Her eyes went wide and punched my arm. “Creeper!”
“I’m just kidding clam down” I laughed.
She rolled her eyes as we walked up to the counter.
“Welcome to Starbucks, what would you like today” The employ said with a smile.
“I woul-“
“Two grande double chocolate chip frappuccinos, please” I said cutting Ashley off.
He smiled and grabbed two cups and grabbed a marker, “Name?”
“Luke” I smiled and glanced over at Ashley who was shaking her head.
“Could you put dark Vader on the other cup” Ashley grinned at me.
The guy nodded and did so. I laughed as we moved to the side.
“Dark Vader?” I looked down at her.
“Yeah, Luke” She smiled at me.
“Luke, your order is ready” The girl placed two cups in front of us and went on to another cup.
I grabbed them and handed Ashley the one that said Dark Vader. She smiled and took it.
“Luke, I am your father” She made her voice deep.
We both looked at each other before bursting into laughter. We went over to a table by the window and took a seat across from each other. Its been three weeks of warped tour and me and Ashley were becoming really close friends in such short time.
“So do you see yourself doing this in the future?” I asked before taking a sip of my frappacino.
She put her cup down, “Yeah, I love doing this, don’t you?”
“Of course, do you ever seeing yourself doing other stuff?”
“Maybe doing more with my art yeah, maybe even getting married one day” She was making circles in her cup.
“Ooo, any one special?”
“Ima single pringle” She grinned at me. “Haven’t found that special person just yet”
“If you ever do, where would you want to get married?”
She stood quiet for a moment, “Hmm probably pairs, just cause I really like the Eiffel tower” She smiled.
“That seems really nice actually” I gave her a small smile.
“What about you? Any lucky ladies out there?”
I let out a laugh “I don’t know, I’ve never really seen myself getting married, maybe one day when I met that right person”
She nodded, “Well you’re a handsome man, so you shouldn’t be single forever”
“Same for you” I smiled.
“Heres to the single life” She put up her cup.
I laughed and did the same, she’s such a dork.

I laughed at the thought, I wonder if she remembers that day. The days where we were just friends, when we were single. I remember, that’s when I was barely starting to like her. To think, I was telling the person I’m going to propose too that I never really saw myself getting married. I smiled; I have nothing to worry about. I grabbed my earphones and put them in. I click shuffle and the first song to play was a song I avoided, a song that brought back that day. The song they played when it all happened.

"Call the ambulance!" Jay yelled.
"Ashley please stay wake"
She looked at me and smiled before she shut her eyes.
"No! Ashley!"

I shook away the memory and changed the song. I wasn’t gonna think of that, she’s live and well. The song I changed to was one I remember her sing to me; I smiled as I pictured her singing it. I raised the volume and shut my eyes.
