Guitars and Love

I peeked into the living room to see Ashley on the floor drawing. I went back into the room and put on my pants. My phone buzzed in my pocket, I reached in and grabbed it out. I put it against my ear as I exited the room.
“Hello?”
“Your order is ready, Mr. Perry”
“Okay”
“Its here when you’re ready to get, sir”
“Ill be right there” I walked into the living room to see Ashley looking over at me. I gave her a small smile; I couldn’t talk about this with her around. I turned and went back to the room. I hung up and texted Mike.
You think you could distract Ash for a bit?
I took a seat on the bed and pulled out my vans. I glanced at my phone to see that Mike texted back.
Yeah, on my way
I put my phone in my pocket and slipped on one of my vans.
“Where you going babe?”
I looked up to see Ashley leaning against the door frame. I couldn’t tell her where. “I needa go get something done, I’ll be back” I reached for my other shoe and put it on.
“Can I go?” She asked taking a seat next to me.
I hated telling her no but she just couldn’t come with me. I sat up and shook my head no and then got off the bed.
“Why not?”
I really wish she didn’t hear me on the phone right now, because then she wouldn’t be questioning me. I know she thinks something’s up. I took off my shirt and tossed it on the hamper. “Because its guy stuff” I went over to closet and looked through my shirts.
“Come on babe, I’ve been in the house all week I wanna do something”
I knew she wanted to do something. I’m glad I text Mike when I did or she would not let me leave. I didn’t wanna talk about this.
I looked over at her, “Have you seen my tatted turtle shirt?” I knew where it was, I just didn’t wanna answer her question. She shook her head no, I shrugged and grabbed my key street shirt and put it on.
“So can i?”
Ugh, she’s not gonna drop this. I smiled at her, “Babe, no” I walked over to the dresser and grabbed my hat.
“Why-“
The door bell rang, Thank god! I rushed out of the room and headed to the door.
“Perfect timing” I laughed.
He laughed as he walked in. “Is she questing you?”
“Yes! I know she thinks something’s up, could you like make her think there’s nothing going on?”
“I got you” He winked at me and ran off to the room.
I stood in the living room; I could hear Mike yell her name.
“Mikey!” I heard her yell and a minute later Mike was in front of me with Ashley over his shoulder. I laughed and gave him a nod and went around him. “Bye babe” I winked at her and walked off back to the room.
As I walked down the hall way I heard her say wait what. I laughed to myself and grabbed my keys off the dresser and headed back to the living room. I noticed her sketchbook on the floor; I took a quick look at what she was drawing. It was a pretty tree, I’m not surprised, she loves trees for some reason. I smiled to myself and headed out the door, locking it up before getting into my car.

I picked up my order and headed over to Vics. I parked my car and got off; I noticed that Jaime was here. Which is good cause I needed another opinion. I rang the door bell and Vic answered.
“Whats up man!” He greeted me.
“Hey” I greeted and walked in.
We went into the living room, where Jaime was sitting with his laptop on his lap.
“Hey jimes” I looked down at him.
He looked up and smiled and put his laptop to the side. “Hey, so did you get it?”
“Yeah, I wanna know what you guys think” I reached in my pocket and pulled out a little black box.
I opened it showing them the ring.
“Dude, that’s perfect” Jaime grinned at me.
“I wasn’t sure because you know how Ashley could be picky sometimes”
Vic grabbed the box out of my hand and looked at it. “Ashley loves anything you get her, the only thing shes picky with is food” We all laughed after he said that. It was true.
“But Jaime is right, it is perfect. It screams Ashley” Vic handed me the box back.
I closed it and put it in my pocket. “I was thinking the same thing”
“Speaking of Ash, where is she?” Jaime asked.
I smiled, “I had Mike kidnap her”
They both laughed. “Is she feeling better?” Vic took a seat on the couch.
“Yeah, she’s back to normal”
“She didn’t ask you where you were going?”
“Yeah, she asked me a million questions, that’s why I had Mike kidnap her” I took a seat next to Vic. “I know she thinks something’s up”
“Did you accidently say something?” Jaime said.
“No, but I could see it on her face”
“Just two more months” Vic grinned at me.
“Where are you planning on having it?” Jaime asked.
“I was gonna talk to her about it, see what she thinks but I’m not sure until I ask her”
“What about the honeymoon” Vic wiggled his eyebrows at me.
I laughed. “Puerto rico, I remember her telling me that’s where she always wanted to visit, I asked Mike to ask her just in case I’m wrong”
“Smart” Jaime nodded in approval.
“Isn’t she Puerto Rican?” Vic asked.
“Yeah”
“Then you’re probably right” Vic got up from the couch. “You guys hungry?”
“Starving” I got up, as did Jaime and we followed Vic into the kitchen.

We all sat at the table in the dining room laughing at some joke Jaime had told us when Mike walked into the kitchen.
“Is Ash with you?” I glanced behind him expecting to see my little blonde.
“Nah, I dropped her off” He reached into the fridge and grabbed a bottle of corona.
He came over and sat next to Vic. “Oh you were right, she was thinking you were hiding something”
“Ash is pretty smart” Jaime took a drink of his water.
“Did you convince her that there’s nothing going on?” I leaned back in my chair.
He took a drink of his corona and then put it back on the table. “Yeah, but stop being suspicious or she’s gonna start thinking that way again”
“Thanks man”
He laughed “You and Ash are so alike, I still can’t get over it.”
“Right, after like six years” Jaime grinned.
I laughed, “What do you mean?”
“After she told me that she thought you were hiding something, I told her that both of you are paranoid”
“What, I’m not paranoid” I sat up and grabbed my water bottle off the table.
“You just proved my point, she said the same damn thing” He laughed and reached for his corona.
I shook my head, “Oh so was I right about the Puerto Rico thing?”
“Yeah, she thinks you forgot”
“She would, well I better get going” I got up from the chair.
“Tell her I said hi” Vic looked up at me.
“Me too” Jaime added.
“Alright, I’ll catch you guys later” I started walking to the door.
“Later” They call out to me.
Then I remembered that I have the ring in my pocket. I didn’t wanna risk having her see it. I went back into the dining room.
“Oh hey you think you could hold onto the ring for me?” I looked down at Vic.
“Yeah, I’ll keep it in a safe place”
I reached in my pocket and pull out the box and handed it to him.
“Can I see it?” Mike leaned toward Vic.
“Yeah”
Vic opened the box and showed the ring to Mike.
“This is so Ashley” He grinned down at the ring.
I nodded, “Yeah, when I saw it, I instantly thought of her”
“She’s gonna love it”
“I hope so”
“She is, don’t worry about it” Vic gave me a look.
“Alright, well ima go now I’ll see ya guys later”
I got in my car and drove down the street. It’s nice outside; I think me and could go do something. I wanted to make up for telling her no earlier. I turned onto our street and pulled into our driveway. I got off the car and opened the door. Ashley was in the kitchen hovering over the stove.
“Hey babe”
She turned and smiled at me “Hello good looking”
I laughed and went into the kitchen. I noticed that she hasn’t changed yet, which is good. She had her hair up in a pony tail and she was wearing a grey long sleeve shirt with blue jeans. She had no shoes on just her socks. I smiled.
“You wanna go do something?” I leaning against the counter.
“Right now?” She turned away from the stove and looked at me.
“Yeah, it nice outside”
She shifted on her feet. “What are we gonna do?”
“I was thinking we could do something we haven’t done in a while”
She gave me a confused look.
“Lets go on a bike ride”
Her eyes widened and a big smile grew on her face. “We haven’t done that in forever! Let me put my shoes on” She ran past me and into the living room.
I laughed and went over to the stove and turned it off. I moved the pot with tea in it, and put it to the side. I went down the hallway and into the garage and grabbed out bikes. I headed back into the hallway with both bikes on my each of my sides and went to the living room.
“Ready?”
She grinned at me. “Lets go!”

We rode down our street side to side. It’s so nice out; the sun was barely going down so the sky was orangeish pinkish color. I looked over to see Ashley smiling; she had her hair down so her hair blew in the wind. She looked so beautiful.
“Hey babe you wanna race?” I winked her.
“To the park?”
“Yeah”
“You’re on” She grinned at me and sped up.
I laughed and went faster, passing her. I noticed the park ahead, I took a quick glance behind me, she wasn’t there. That’s weird, she hasn’t pasted me. Then I felt a poke on my left shoulder. I turned around and she laughed and went faster. We finally got to the park by the beach.
“I won!” She yelled as she slowed down on her bike.
“I let you win” I slowed down to her pace.
“Whatever you say” She winked at me.
We stood going around the park, and it’s a big park. There was hardly anyone here, it was perfect. We were now on the side walk by the ocean. Ashley flashed me a big smile, I winked at her and she laughed.
“I love you” She grinned.
“I love you too”
