I woke up to someone shaking me.

“Hmmm?” I groaned

“It’s almost 2, wake up” Tony laughed.

“Fuck” I muttered before sitting up.

“What’s wrong?”

“I have practice in an hour.” I sighed rubbing my face

“Oh, well I can take you.” Tony smiled.

“That would be great, but can we make a quick stop at my house so I can get my stuff?”

“Yeah, no problem.”

My legs were still so sore as I stood up and walked out to the car. The drive was short, but that didn’t stop me from thinking about how Jaime would react. I felt kinda bad for walking out like that, but I mean come on, I had some pretty good reasons.

I sighed as we parked in the driveway. I hope he doesn’t yell at me for staying at Tony’s all night.

“You want me to come with you?” asked Tony.

I nodded and we went inside. I walked upstairs and changed before legging it back downstairs to the kitchen. I stopped in the doorway as Tony and Jaime came into view. Jaime looked like hell.

I didn’t really say anything as I went to the freezer and filled up 2 more bags of ice before wrapping my legs, whilst Tony made his way to the front door.

“Dani are you ready?”

“Uhh yeah” I said glancing at Jaime.

“I’ll be home after practice.” I muttered as I walked past him and out the door.

“Bye Tony.” I said before hopping out of the car and running towards the field. I was late and I was really hoping coach wouldn’t be mad.

“Preciado, you’re late.” Coach yelled.

“I know, I’m sorry, I just had some issues at home.” I muttered before I threw down my bag down.

“Alright, well go get practice started.” I nodded and walked over to where everyone was standing.

“Hey guys, how are you all feeling.”

“Sore.” Amber laughed as she fixed the ice packs on her legs.

“I think practice went really good yesterday, and since we’re all really sore, I think we should still stretch a little, while we talk about the plays that you guys think we still need work on, and then run through them a few times, and then end practice early.”

“Sounds great.” said Jaz.

Jaime’s POV

“Dude you look like shit.” Tony stated sitting in front of me.

“Then I look how I feel.” I sighed.

“Ya wanna talk about it?”

“I’m pretty sure you heard all about it from Dani.” I sighed.

“You’re right, but it wouldn’t hurt to know what you were thinking.”

“That’s the thing, I don’t think I was thinking at all.”

“Why was Ashley even here?”

“I don’t know. She showed up and we started talking and drinking a little and then we started kissing.”

“I’m okay with Dani coming over and hanging out, but dude you have to get your shit together, I mean you have a kid now, you just can’t keep running back to Ashley and bringing her back home with you..” He sighed. I simply nodded and sighed, I guess he’s right.


Dani’s POV

Practice ended a lot quicker than I thought it would, and I was impressed with how our team was doing. I have so much faith in them.

“Hey Dani, do you wanna go to the mall with us?” Jaz asked.

“Uhm, no thank you. I think I’m going to stay here and run through some things.” I smiled.

“Alright, we’ll see you tomorrow then.” She smiled as her and Amber left.

I spent the rest of the time at the park just running on the track. That was until my dad’s car showed up. I stopped running and walked over to the window.

“Dad? What are you doing here?”

“It’s 8:30 and you weren’t at home yet so I decided to come get you.”

“Oh, I’ll go get my bag.” I said and went to get it. I feel like I should apologize to him for running out, but I mean, I don’t know, I’m British we aren’t good at apologizing and showing a lot of affection, but then again that could just be me.

“Do you wanna get something to eat?” Asked Jaime as I got in the car.

“Uhh sure.” I agreed and turned on the radio.

We ended up at some small cafe that was actually quite cozy.

“So Dani….” Jaime said after we ordered.

“Yeah?”

“I’m sorry about last night, I really am. I was an asshole and I can’t believe I did that.” I frowned at him.

“I’m sorry too. I shouldn’t have left to go to Tony’s without asking you first.”

“No, don’t be. I’m glad it was one of the guys instead of some stranger.” He chuckled. It was nice to see my dad smile after looking like hell this morning.

We continued to talk about practice and anything else that came to mind before finally going back home.
