Only The Good Die Young

Chapter Twenty-One

They wandered throughout the tents set up for a while, not really bothering to buy anything. Mike was really just trying to give Tony a lay of the land, explaining that it would mos tlikely be set up like this every year.

"Okay, I'm gonna go to the bathroom. Wait here~" Mike bounces off, leaving Tony to wait infront of the Home Ec barn. He took that chance to wander over and watch some kids get their faces painted across from where he had been standing. He moves over to look at a booth selling sunglasses. They were all really nice, and a gal talking to the owner was explaining how they'd lasted her over three years without getting destroyed. He liked those odds. Carefully Tony decides on a pair and buys them before quickly walking back to where he was supposed to be waiting.

Mike meets him moments later, holding something behind his back awkwardly. "Nice shades, steal 'em?" Mike jokes with a grin, having a pretty good idea that Tony had just wlked over and bought them.

Tony chuckles too, pushing the sunglasses up on his nose. "So,w hat're you hiding back there Mikey?" Tony teases.

"Give me you hand." Tony simply complies, putting his hand into Mike's open palm. Mike draws his other hand from behind his back and slides a bracelet onto Tony's wrist. It was a simple one with a single bead on a black string. Tony examined to bead closer to find a tree painted onto it. "I -uh- saw it and thought it might look nice on you," Mike says, a blush spreading across his cheeks. "So how about we go hit the midway?"

"Sure," Tony says, placing a kiss onto Mike's cheeks before taking his hand and setting of toward the midway with it's rides and carnival games.

They stand in line for a long while before they finally buy their wristbands and head out toward the rides. "Which one do you want to ride first?" Mike asks.

Tony purses his lips and examines the rides before finally pointing toward one called 'the Yo-Yo.' "That one," he says decisively.

"Good choice. I haven't ridden that one in years." They walk toward it and get in the short line. Wednesdays were always a good day to ride. It was usually pretty quiet and all the lines were short. They wait patiently until finally they re-load the ride. Tony settles into one of the seats and fiddles with the belts un such until it's set. A carny walks by and checks to see that each person's safety bar is placed securely across their lap. Whent hey finish making their rounds the ride starts up and Tony feels his heart skip a beat when it lifts off the ground.
It slowly starts to spin, gaining speed until the swing like chair is practically horizontal in the air. He looks forward and he can vaguely make Mike's figure out in the seat in front of him. Mike seems to be enjoying himself, where as Tony felt a little dizzy. Tony waits it out though, at least it wasn't outrageously hot yet, so he wasn't dizzy and hot. The ride finally ends and he gladly get out and joins Mike outside the gate.

Mike chuckles at Tony, not placing an arm around him like he normally would. It was already starting to get too hot for being touchy feely. "Another ride or games?"

"Games," Tony answers with out any hesitation.

"All righty." Mike and Tony start off toward the games in a part of the midway shadowed by the rodeo arena. It was way cooler over here, and Tony wouldn't actually mind spending the entire day over here if he had the option, or the money, seeing as the games were rather expensive.

"I'm awesome at this version of darts," Mike informs Tony as he rushes over to the booth. Tony rolls his eyes, remembering how bad Mike had been at the board walk games.

"Yeah right Fuentes."

Mike pokes his tongue out at Tony. "Watch me Perry." Mike pays for the darts and takes a step back and carefully aims the dart. He brings his arm back and tosses it, somehow managing to pop two balloons. He retrieves another dart and tosses again, sucesfully popping yet another balloon. Pretty soon he won a large green monkey that he presented to Tony with a grin. "I said the games at fair are easier than the ones on the boardwalk."

Tony rolls his eyes, before selecting the Duck Pond to play. He liked his odds with this one, even if he didn't get a large prize, he was definitely going to get a prize. He win an XS prize, he chooses a light up purple duck, which he names after Mike jokingly. They play a few more games before deciding to head back to the tent and beat the heat in the shade. Vic had picked probably the best spot to camp in the entire fairground. It was nice and shady in the day, then in the evening it was nice and toasty as the day started to get cold.

Tony and Mike crawl into the tent and sprawl out across the sleeping bags. Mike lays his arm across the small of Tony's back and pulls him into his side. Mike eventually rolls Tony over and moves to straddle his waist. Mike places a gentle kiss to Tony's lips, licking along Tony's plump bottom lip, biting it gently. Tony softly moans, parting his lips for Mike happily. Their tongues dance together and suddenly a phone ringing causes them to roll apart and scramble for the phone.

Finally Tony realizes it's his cellphone in his back pack. He picks it up and answers, a bit irritated that he had been interrupted. "Hello?"

"Hey Tone!" He hears his aunt's voice.

"Hey Aunt Marie," he answers. "What's up?"

"I know for a fact you haven't been school clothes shopping. So do you think your friends could bring you back up tomorrow?"

"Uh, yeah. Let me ask." Tony pulls to phone away from his ear and places his hand over the reciever. "Could you take me back to Sulfur Springs tomorrow morning?" He asks quietly.

"Sure," Mike grumbles.

Tony brings the phone back to his ear. "Yeah." His aunt says something he doesn't particularly care about, then says her good byes. "'Kay. Love you too. See you tomorrow, bye." Tony hands up and shoves the phone back into his back pack. Mike gladly goes back to kissing Tony, moving down Tony's neck and adding more hickeys to the growing collection.

Mike moves back to Tony's lips and they lazily kiss before falling into a mid-afternoon sleep.

Notes

Okay, so a semi-longish update.
I literally have so many ideas for "the Vanishing Act" the low quality of this story keeps lowering.
I'm so sorry about that.
