Only The Good Die Young

Chapter Nineteen

Vic looks over his brother and Tony suspiciously as they offer an excuse as to why they didn't show up to help set up the tent. The look on his face is obviously unimpressed. because anyone could see that they had chosen to blow Vic off to fuck.

Jaime pops out of the tent and looks at Mike and Tony with wide innocent eyes. He could tell by the hickeys on Tony's neck and the gimp in his step and knows he Mike had done something. "You didn't . . . Did you?!"

The blush on Tony's face speaks more than anything they could've said and Vic and Jaime engage in some friendly teasing, though Mike was frowning and glaring through most of it.
"Okay," Vic says through his laughter. "We already have the sleeping bags and such set up, so go claim you stake. I think Hime and I are going to go look around, kay?"

Tony nods, and Mike says something along the lines of 'yes' before Jaime and Vic walk off to wherever their destination might have been.

"I'm gonna go take a nap Mikey," Tony says sleepily, despite the fact it was still mid-afternoon.

"I'll come with, it's too hot out to do much anyways," Mike says, following Tony into the warm tent. Tony sprawls out across an obviously unclaimed sleeping bag in the far side of the tent that was slightly cooler from the shade of the tree a little ways off. His head barely hits the pillow before he snoring (gently for once). Mike chuckles lightly and shakes his head at his boyfriend. He was being dangerously cute right now.

Mike crawls across the tent and lays down next to Tony, laying an arm across him carefully before drifting off himself.

Tony didn't stir until the late afternoon. It was no longer unbearably hot, but now it was a comfortable warmth. Tony wriggles out of Mike's grasp, he always got clingy when they cuddled. "Mikey, wake up," Tony says quietly, peppering Mike's face with soft kisses.

"But I was so comf'rble," Mike mumbles, shifting.

"I wanna go explore now though, I've never been here before." Tony shakes Mike's shoulder gently until Mike finally sits up.

"I guess I could go for something to eat," Mike says, his voice still heavy with tiredness.

"Good, I'm starving, and I am trusting you to show me a good place to find food," Tony smiles and exits the tent, Mike following closely behind. When they're both stand outside of the tent, Tony entangles his hand with Mike's and rests his head on the other man's shoulder.

Mike grins at his boyfriend. "Dangerously cute, Tony," he mumbles, kissing the boy on top of his head. Mike leads Tony from the camping area and through another one he explains is the 4-H camping area, which is essentially the same thing the people there just tend to be up earlier and leave things everywhere due to animals.

"Can we look at the animals?" Tony asks as the white barns come into view. He couldl see a memorial plaque on the nearest one, and a few signs underneath it saying that the barn housed sheep and pigs.

"Sure babe," Mike says, squeezing Tony's hand gently before letting go of it all together. Mike and Tony walk toward the first white barn and Mike opens the gate for Tony and closes it behind him quickly. "We probably shouldn't spend too mcuh time in the pig half of this barn because the kids should start washing their pigs pretty soon."

Tony nods and they continue down the rows of pigs. For the most part it was quiet, with the exception of the baaing of the sheep on the other side of the barn and the occasional squeal of a pig. They looked at the sheep too, but Tony liked the piglets best. The kid exhibiting them even let Tony hold one, despite it's loud squealing it was virtually impossible not to find the little thing cute.

Tony pets the small creature's head proudly once it quiets down and looks at Mike with a wide grin as he hands it back to the girl. "I totally want one now."

Mike laughs. "We'll get right on that."

Mike brought Tony through the cattle barns next, which Tony found a little nervewracking. The cattle weren't shut into pens like the pigs and sheep. Finally they head through the poultry and rabbit barn, which Tony was also veyr fond of. He couldn't believe he'd let his aunt con him out of going to the fair last year. This was great!

Mike practically has to drag Tony from the rabbits, but eventually he does. "What are you in the mood for? Nachos? Pizza? Chinese?"

"You pick something," Tony says, admiring the vendors scatered throughout the area.
Mike decides on a little local stand that made the best french fries. He and Tony buy their dinner and find an open picnic table to eat at. In a matter of minutes they're joined by Jaime and Vic who seemed to have spotted them from across the fairgrounds.

"Dude, you guys should go look at the Home Ec. barn, they seriously have some awesome looking art in there!" Jaime proclaims, the usual childish enthusiasm in his voice.

"We'll check it out tomorrow before we hit the midway. Right Tone?"

"Uh, sure." Tony glances over in the direction of the midway, where the lights are already going and blatantly visible in the slowly darkening sky.

Before long the boys find themselves back at the tent, preparing to go to sleep. Though the day had been short, Tony would admit he was excited to see what the next day held if today was that great.

Notes

Eh. This isn't very great, and it's kind of just filler. I probably could've elaborated more in places, but I'm tired so, yeah . . .
