May These Noises Startle You In Your Sleep

One Night Under The Smoke Alarm

~ Callie's POV ~

It was unbelievably hot!

Ally and I had been living on Pierce the Veil's tour bus for five days now, and we had become really close with the boys. I had noticed Ally in particular had become close to Vic. They practically inseparable, giggling over something or going for walks together alone. I was so happy for my best friend. I saw the way he looked at her and I could just tell they were falling in love with each other. Although Ally insisted they were 'just friends', I could sense the chemistry building between them and honestly I hadn't seen Ally this genuinely happy in a long time.

I myself however, had found myself drawn to the quiet and reserved Tony. I loved running my fingers through his soft, dark hair and tracing his tattoos with my fingers. His smile made my heart flutter and when his big, brown eyes met mine, I would get lost in them. He was so different to any other guy that I had dated before, not just in the way that he made me feel but in the way he made me feel appreciated and beautiful. Ever since that first night on the bus, I had not been able to get him out of my head and I enjoyed that feeling alot.

Today the tour was located in Pomona. We had arrived at the venue late last night, heavily exhausted from a big day before. We had decided not to party last night, instead catching up on some well earned rest so that we could all be refreshed for today's show. I had drifted off to sleep while scrolling through Facebook and Tumblr on my phone. Sometime later, Tony had crawled into my bunk wanting cuddles and I had been more than happy to oblige. I had snuggled up to his chest and he proceeded to kiss my forehead and we had drifted off into a pleasantly happy slumber together.

Today in Pomona, the sun was high in the sky and streaming intense rays of heat down at the Earth. Beads of sweat formed above my forehead as Ally and I worked hard selling merch for the boys before their set. We would sell the merch in the morning, then head over to the main stage in the afternoon when it was time for the boys to play. Occasionally kids recognised Ally or I from photos that the boys had put up of us on their various social media sites and would sometimes ask us questions about the band, or even ask us for a photo!

Today Ally and I watched from side stage. We were in charge of towels and water bottles, ensuring that the boys had a place to wipe off the sweat and re-hydrate. Performing in the hot sun had to be exhausting!

As like before, the boys would open their set with "May These Noises Startle You In Your Sleep' before merging straight into Hell Above. It really got the crowd going wild! Even in the hot sun, people were moshing, running around and enjoying the music as the boys gave their everything on stage. I couldn't take my eyes of Tony and how he put so much passion into what he was playing, his fingers dancing up and down the fret-board. He would occasionally interact with Jaime, Vic or even Mike, before jumping up onto the mount, all this whilst playing intensely fast guitar riffs. Sometimes he would look over to where Ally and I were watching and he would flash a cute smile or wink at us!

Today something was up. Tony seemed nervous and distracted as he played. I pointed this out to Ally.

"It's probably just the heat" she said, raising her voice over the music. "It's getting to everyone!" She pointed to a girl who was being pulled out of the pit after fainting from heat exhaustion.

"You're probably right" I nodded biting my lip but I couldn't shake the feeling that something was up.

A Match Into Water ended and I knew the next song would be Hold On Till May. Today however, Vic did not exchange his electric guitar for an acoustic one. For a moment I was distracted by my thoughts until I heard my name sound through the PA system, dragging my mind harshly back into reality.

"Before we play our next song" Vic said breathlessly into the microphone "I just wanted to say a big thank you to our crew for without them, none of this would be possible!"

The crowd responded by cheering and screaming loudly.

"Alright, alright!" Vic said. "Now you've all seen our two beautiful merch girls, working tirelessly for us, selling our merch, getting our names out there. Give it up for Callie and Ally!" The crowd went insane, cheering and screaming and clapping. Ally and I both smiled widely.

"Okay I swear we've got two more songs for you but I'm going to need a little minute of your time before we do because our guitarist has something to say"

Ally and I watched as Tony stepped up and took the microphone from Vic, who then proceeded to head to the stage of the stage to exchange his electric guitar for his acoustic one. I threw a confused look at Ally and she shrugged at me, seeming non-fussed by all of this.

Tony was still in the middle of the stage but he had turned to face Ally and I.
"Callie could you come on stage right now?" He said.

'Oh my god' I thought, looking around at the sea of faces in front of me. Jaime was standing on stage grinning at me, and Mike was wiggling his eyebrows and Ally looked confused but I could tell she was holding back a smile. I gave Tony a weird look as I stepped onto the stage, staring only at his beautiful face.

He brought the microphone back to his lips and spoke. "Callie, I've only known you for a week but it's literally been the best week of my life. No one makes me happy the way you do and no one even remotely understands me like you do. I really, really like you Callie. You light me up even when you're not around and I'm just thinking about you. Callie, will you be my girlfriend?"

My stomach dropped and for a moment, I was frozen in time, my jaw had dropped and my eyes were wide with a mixture of shock and happiness. I felt a few tears run down my face. I gained some form of consciousness again, as I ran over to Tony, pulling him into a soft but passionate kiss. I knew the crowd was cheering, and Mike was wolf-whistling at us in the background but I didn't hear any of it. I was lost in the moment and it was perfect.

I pulled out of the kiss, pulling into a hug in which I whispered into Tony's ear. "Yes. I will be your girlfriend." I looked into his eyes leaving my hands around his neck and he was smiling. I grinned back.

"SHE SAID YES!" Jaime yelled out into his microphone excitedly. I felt myself go red as Tony and I laughed. The crowd went wild, chanting out mine and Tony's names. I didn't want to let go but it was time for me to return to the side of the stage and convince myself that what had just happened was extremely real.

"This song goes out to Callie and Tony" Vic said into his microphone as he began to strum the chords to Hold On Till May.

Notes

Sooooooooooooooo I know I haven't updated in a few days. I've been so busy with study and music and uni and recovering from hangovers that I didn't update. I also had writers block so sorry if this chapter is shit.

But Tony asked Callie to be his girlfriend and she said yes!
Do you think Vic will eventually ask Ally out?

Comment with what you want to see happen!

Keep reading. I love you all xx
