- Yaressi's POV -
I woke up to arms wrapped around me.
They were Austin's.
Adaa was still asleep in my arms.
But her eyes fluttered open shortly after mine did.
She didn't start crying, but she looked at me with a smile.
She's been teething, so she already had a couple growing in.
I smiled back at her.
Climbing out of bed, I woke up Austin.
"Good morning." he kissed my lips.
I looked at him confused and shocked.
He stopped and looked back at me.
"I-I'm sorry.. I was so used to doing that every morning, I guess I just.."
"It's fine Austin. Good morning."
He smiled sheepishly and I walked out of the room.
That was weird.
It's not like he meant to.
He wasn't used to not doing that every morning.
And he doesn't like me that way.
And I don't like him that way.
Just friends.
Right?
Yes!
Stop it Yaressi.
Geez.
You're married and have a baby girl with your husband.
One fight shouldn't change your feelings.
Were they already changed?
No!
You love Tony!
What are you even thinking?!
I shut my eyes and opened them again, hoping the voice in my head would go away.
It did.
I sat Adaa down on the floor and watched her tug on Alan's hair, trying to wake him up.
His eyes snapped open.
He jumped back at the sight of Adaa, then groaned, putting his hand on his head.
"Hungover much?" I laughed.
He looked up at me.
He groaned again and rolled over.
I seen Austin's door open from the corner of my eye.
"I think I should get going." I looked at Austin.
"Alright, let's go." he sighed and grabbed his keys, walking out the door.
Guess he's not a morning person.
I grabbed Adaa, her diaper bag and headed out the door with her to Austin's car.
He was staring out the window.
I put Adaa inside her car seat and got in the passenger side.
He started the car and began to drive.
He didn't say a word the whole way back.
I looked at him a couple times, but he didn't look back at me or smile like he did last night.
We arrived back at my house.
"See ya." he said.
I looked at him, confused.
"What?" he asked. "we're here now. That means you can go."
I hopped out of the car and slammed the door.
Austin tried getting out Adaa, but I wouldn't let him.
"No, don't touch her." I grabbed her and her car seat.
"What did I do?!" he exclaimed.
"I'm here. That means I can go. That means you can too. So bye." I walked up to my front door.
"Yaressi, wait."
"No, Austin."
"Please, I'm sorry."
"Why were you being that way? We were having a good time last night."
He looked at his feet and sighed.
"I really like you Yaressi. Okay? I did when I first met you, but I didn't know you were with Tony. When I found out you were, I let it go because I liked you a little bit. But now, I.. I love you. But you're married. And you have a kid. I'm sorry. When I kissed you, you seem upset. I really didn't mean to, but at the same time.. I did. I'm sorry Yaressi. I'll go now."
I didn't know what to do.
Austin.. Loves me?
A lump formed in my throat.
I don't want to hurt him.
I can't hurt him.
But he's right... I have Tony and Adaa.
I opened my mouth to say something, but the front door opened behind me.
It was Tony.
There were tears in his eyes.
Jaime took Adaa and Tony hugged me tight.
"I'm so sorry. Please don't ever leave me. I love you more than anything."
I wrapped my arms around him.
"I promise." I whispered.
