Poverty of the Unwanted
Summary
"Wake up Dayani!" my mom yelled from downstairs
I groaned but did as I was told. The last time I didn't she beat me to a pulp.
I showered, brushed my teeth and got dressed before heading into the kitchen to get breakfast.
Mom gave me a disgusted look "That's what you're wearing to school?"
"Yeah!" I said looking down at my outfit "What's wrong with it?"
I was wearing a Falling In Reverse hoodie, skinny jeans and a pair of jordans. I saw nothing wrong.
She shook her head "What's wrong.......don't you mean what's right. Why can't you be a normal teenager? Why you gotta listen to devil's music? Why do you gotta be weird and dye your hair? What did I do wrong to deserve a piece of shit child like you? Why did you come out so.......wrong? Why did I even have you?"
That really hit my heart. My eyes burned as tears threatened to spill. People at school harsh words hurt, but to hear the same from your own mother. To hear her say she wish she didn't have you. It was......painful, painful beyond words.
I grabbed my backpack and swung it over my back "Bye mommy I love you too."
I walked out the door as tears fell down my eyes. I can't believe she said that. I can't believe she hates me that much. I'm hoping she was just having a bad morning and that when I get home from school everything would be alright.
I came home from school to an empty house
She abandoned me
Now I'm truly alone
