Fuentes Girl

Love Comes From More Than Just The Heart

I was downstairs watching t.v. when my phone rang. I saw Matt’s number and smirked. “Yes?” I answered.
“Effy, what you doing today?” he asked.
“Spending the day with my dad. Why?”
“Why you spending the day with Daddy?”
“I’m a Daddy’s girl?” I tried.
“We both know that isn’t true.” Matt laughed.
“How’s that?”
“After the other week. No way.”
“Fine, I’ll give you that.”
“Oh, I’m giving you the scoop. Next month there’s this huge party happening. You have to come.” he told me.
“Where’s it at?”
“This old warehouse.”
“Sounds interesting." I pondered.
“You out tonight?”
“Think I might stay in.”
“No. Everyone else has bailed. Don’t leave me, Ef.” Matt begged. I chuckled down the phone.
“Come to mine,” I urged. “Tonight.”
“Really?”
“Sure. We can listen to music and get some pizza. But if you try anything I’ll blind you.”
“Got it loud and clear,” he laughed. “But will your dad be cool with it?”
“No. That’s why you’re going to be climbing in my window.”
“You’re going to get me killed.”
“I know.” I smirked.
“See you later then.”
“See you,” I smiled. I put my phone of the sofa and sat back.
I liked Matt, so much. But I’m not doing the whole relationship thing. It gets complicated, just look at my mom. I might kiss him, but it won’t mean anything.
“Bye Effy!” Dad called. I got up and frowned.
“Wait!” I called back.
“Hmm?” he asked as he pulled his jacket on.
“Where are you going?”
“To the studio.”
“But it’s father daughter day.”
“Yeah, after.” he nodded.
“Well, can I come to the studio?”
“Why? It’ll be boring. Me singing behind a pane of glass. Mike drumming in a room down the hall. Tony and Jaime waiting their turn.”
“Please. I’ve never really heard you.” I said carefully.
“Didn't your mom let you listen?” he frowned.
“No, she didn’t like your voice.”
“Sounds like Katie,” he sighed. “Get your bag.”
“Thanks.” I grinned.
I got my bag and walked out with him. We went to his car and I got inside. Dad pulled out onto the road and smiled at me.
“You actually want to see what I do?” he laughed.
“Yeah,” I nodded. “I want to see what all the hype is about.”
“Haven’t you ever seen a video or anything?”
“Bits. But we had class so my friend had to stop it.”
“Your friends like us?” he asked amused.
“Yeah,” I frowned. “They don’t know who my dad is though because that would be weird.”
“They’ll work it out.” he smirked.
“Probably when they look at a video and see me at the side.”
“Do you want to come to a show?” he asked.
“Kind of.”
I looked up and we pulled into a car park. We pulled up and got out. I grabbed my bag and we started towards the doors. Dad opened the door for me and we went up to the desk. He smiled at the woman behind it.
“Victor Fuentes.” Dad told her.
“You know where you’re going by now.” she replied warmly.
Dad led me down and corridor and to some stairs. We walked to a door and he opened it for me. Inside I saw Mike, Tony and Jaime with two other men. Dad went over to talk to the men and I went to sit down of the sofa by Mike, Jaime and Tony.
“What’s up, kid?” Mike asked.
“Father daughter fun.”
“In the studio?” Tony asked.
“Sounds great.” Jaime smirked.
“Shut up,” I teased. “So I need to ask you something.” I told Mike.
“Go on.” he urged.
“Do you think my dad would possibly let me and a friend hang out in my room tonight?” I asked seriously.
“Gender?”
“Male.” I said easily.
“Are you a lesbian?”
“No, I’m not.” I rolled my eyes.
“Then no.”
“Why?” I pouted.
“Because Vic used to go to his girlfriends in high school and engage in certain um . . .”
“Activities.” Jaime put in.
“His girlfriend was my mom. That's so gross,” I shuddered. “So it’s a no?”
“Correct.” Mike grinned.

When we had finished at the studio I said goodbye to Tony and Jaime. I’ve been talking to them a lot and they’re actually pretty cool. Mike got in our car because we were going back to their Mom and Dad's, my Grandma and Granddad's. When we pulled up outside I bit down on my lip anxiously.
“Relax.” Dad told me.
“What if they hate me?”
“They won’t.” Mike told me.
“Yeah, they had to come to terms with having Mike as a son.” Dad joked.
“Dickhead.” Mike laughed and pushed Dad in the arm. I rolled my eyes and got out. Mike came to me and squeezed my shoulder. “Cheer up. You look like someone’s after your horcruxes.”
“I’ve got none. I’m just that hardcore,” I grinned at the reference. He laughed and high fived me. Dad rolled his eyes and went ahead of us. “You know my best friend from back home when to school with Emma Watson.” I told him.
“Who’s that?” Dad asked.
“Hermione.” I replied.
“Seriously? Can you hook us up? Because I would do anything for a night with her.” Mike smirked.
“Ugh!” I exclaimed. “Dad!” I yelled.
“Stop grossing her out!” Dad called back.
I saw him open the front door with his key. I hurried over to him and he took my hand. He squeezed it and then let go. “Hi! Mama! Papa!” he shouted. There was noise from the living room and we walked in. A woman jumped up when she saw us. She went straight past Mike and Dad and to me. She wrapped her arms around me. We hugged and she squeezed me tightly.
“I have been waiting a year to see you,” she told me. “Victor!” she called.
“It’s nice to meet you.” I told her.
“I finally have a granddaughter from one of my sons that refuse to settle down.” she said brightly.
“Do I get a hug, Mama?” Dad asked.
“Later.” she said dismissively. I laughed as a man came into the room. He beamed at me and came over. He hugged me briefly and looked between Dad and I.
“You look just like Vic.” he told me.
“Thanks.” I smiled.
“She’s so pretty.” Mama told me, making me blush.
“Wow.” I muttered.
“You’re making her uncomfortable.” Dad said and pulled me over to him to sit down.

I know it's horrible but shit like this happens. I know people who have lost trials when the truth was obvious. I even know someone who got arrested for GBH and didn't get charged because his girlfriend and her people told too many lies. Hopefully it's believable though because this stuff does happen... :(
