Lonely Girl

Driving to Hayley's house was completely nerve wracking. My mind was going a thousand miles a minute. So much was happening and nothing made any sense to me. I am a dad? I have a kid...

Wait, this is so messed up. I slapped myself in the face to wake myself up. Okay I'm never doing that again while driving. Hayley's car suddenly took a turn into a suburban estate. It looked really nice, a place where you would wanna raise a kid. What I want to know is, if she was trying to hide the fact she had my kid then why move to the city I stay in? It's like she wanted me to find her.

She finally turned into a driveway with a big garden. It looked beautiful, I'm actually pretty jealous that she lives this life with our kid while I travelled around the world playing shows. Yes I fucking love my job but family is important too, especially when all I really have now is Mike and the guys. I barely see papa anymore, he's spending his retirement travelling. Like mama always wanted him to.

I followed suit and parked behind Hayley's car. I watched them climb out of the car and Elisa looked back at me. Taylor tagged her and they began running around the garden. A pang of jealous shot through me. I should be running around with her and playing. Then it hit me.

Why did Taylor come back to Hayley's house? Why does he seem so close to Elisa? Why does this all seem really strange? Hayley and Taylor are together aren't they?

I climbed out of the car slowly and closed the door. Hayley turned to look at me. I bit my tongue and walked over to her. "We should talk properly while they play" She suggested.

I nodded and followed her into the house. It was pretty massive inside but homely. There was a box of toys in the corner of the living room. "This place is nice" I said softly.

"Thanks. I got it pretty cheap actually, my mom helped me bargain for it and I saved a ton of money. I want it to look like a home and not just a show room house" She explained taking her coat off and hanging inside a small closet.

"You've definitely picked a great place to raise a kid in" I nodded looking around. My eyes fell upon Hayley, who was looking at me strangely.

"I decided to stay in San Diego because I wanted to stay out of the limelight while Elisa was just born. Basically no one knows about her. At all. I just hid away. I didn't wanna leave Cali altogether so I decided to move down here" She shrugged.

"You must have known that you'd of bumped into me at some point, no?" I asked.

"I sorta hoped I would" She smiled softly. "Maybe it's not the best way for you to find out but it was hidden for way too long. You needed to know and now you do" She explained.

"I'm so angry at you" I said shaking my head at her.

"I know. I'm angry at myself too but you know what? You know now and you can either step up and be the dad you should have been for the past two and a half years or walk away now before she gets attached to you" Hayley said stepping closer to me. Her eyes looked up at me with pleading. She wanted me here...

"I'm not walking away" I stated.

She smiled widely. "Good".

"What is gonna happen now that I'm in her life?" I asked.

"Maybe you can come over and see her whenever you can for now and then begin letting her stay at your house... you still live with the guys right?" She asked. I nodded slowly. "Well they'll need to come over and meet her won't they" She smiled.

"Why don't we invite them over today for dinner too?" I suggested.

Her face lit up. "That's a great idea... don't tell them why they're coming though" She said.

"Yeah... they'll be so surprised" I shook my head with a laugh. I text the guys and told them the address and to come here for 6. They were so confused but agreed to it.

3 hours later.

"I'm gonna get ya" I giggled as I chased Elisa around the backyard. She was giggling so loudly, it was adorable.

"Mommy, save me" She squealed as she ran around Hayley and hid.

"Mommy can't save ya" I laughed as I moved around Hayley. I picked up Elisa and threw her over my shoulder. She giggled so loudly. I began tickling her and playing around.

"Mommy help" She giggled out.

Suddenly my phone started ringing. I put Elisa down and pulled my phone out. Shit I totally forgot about my girlfriend. "Hello?" I answered.

"Hey babe what's up?" Rachel spoke down the phone.

"I can't talk right now..." I said looking up at Hayley. "I've got some big stuff going on actually and I need to deal with it alone" I said softly.

"What do you mean? Vic I swear you can't do this? I came home early to see you" She moaned.

"I'm sorry I can't do it tonight. I have more important things to deal with and I'm sure you'll understand as soon as I talk to you properly" I explained.

"Fine but I'm not happy with this" She said with annoyance.

"I'll speak to you later okay" I told her.

"I love you Vic" She said sweetly.

"Love you too" I said quickly and hung up.

I looked up to see Hayley and Elisa just playing quietly. "You okay?" Hayley asked.

"Yeah just some stuff I have to deal with later" I explained.

"Okay, well I hope it works out" She smiled.

Suddenly the doorbell rung out and Hayley's eyes lit up. "Who's that?" Elisa asked.

"Go answer the door" Hayley said to her. We followed Elisa out to the front door. She reached up and answered the door.

From afar I seen Mike, Tony and Jaime look down at the little girl. "Well done doofus, wrong house" Tony said to Jaime.

I walked out to the door and they looked at me with confusion. Jenna pushed through and Elisas eyes lit up. "Auntie Jenna" She squealed.

"Elisa, baby how are you?" She asked as Elisa jumped into her arms.

"Okay what's going on here?" Mike asked.

"Hey guys, meet my daughter" I said softly. They looked between me and Elisa.

"Who's her mom?" Jaime asked.

"Me..." Hayley said and stepped out from behind me. One by one all of their jaws dropped to the ground.

"Well this is unexpected" Tony said.
