Lonely Girl

Vic's P.O.V

The stare between us was incredible. She looked so much more mature. Her eyes were filled with happiness. Something I had not seen in a long time. The last time I seen her was at Warped. That's how long it has been, that's how long I have to go without her. "Who's that?" Elisa asked.

I looked down at the little girl and she just stared at me. Suddenly Taylor appeared. "Hey guys what's... up?" He stopped in his tracks and looked at me.

"Elisa can you go with uncle Taylor please?" Hayley said softly. Not looking away from me.

"Are you sure?" Taylor asked.

"I don't see any other way out of this" She snapped out of her stare and looked at Taylor. My eyes fluttered down to the little girl. She was tiny.

"Okay, come on Elisa. We'll go see a movie without mom okay?" Taylor held his hand out for the confused little girl. She took his hand and they began walking away. Her little head turned around to look at me while she was being dragged along.

I looked at Hayley and suddenly anger burst from within me. "What the fuck is going on here!?" I demanded.

She jumped a little because of the sudden loudness from me. It made me feel a little bad then I remembered, I'm angry. "Let's go somewhere a little quieter okay?" She said softly.

"Fine" I scoffed. She turned around and began walking so I followed her.

She led me to the car park and over to what I'm assuming was her car. It had a car seat in the back and kids toys everywhere. We got in the car and silence fell upon us. I watched her nervous drum on the steering wheel with her fingers. This was obviously not what she expected from the day. I studied her features; her hair was longer than it usually would be, longer than it was in the video for Now. Her skin was as white as snow but looked soft and delicate. Like I always remembered it to be. She still looked really young, age hadn't caught up with her yet. She suddenly snapped her head around and looked at me. "I guess you're really confused and want to know what's going on?" She asked softly.

"Too fucking right I do" I said harshly. I instantly regretted how horrible I sounded.

"Ask away then" She said as she slowly looked away.

"Is she mine?" I asked.

"Of course" She said looking at me like I was an idiot.

"You were with Patrick Stump for awhile so she could have been his" I shrugged.

"Did you see her? She has tanned skin. Like you. She has brown hair. Like you. Me and Patrick are both as white as ghosts and have light coloured hair" She said ferociously. "Yes, she is yours".

"Okay, okay" I said defensively.

Silence fell between us while I decided which question to ask next. Okay I got it. "Why didn't you tell me?" I asked.

She sighed and laid her head down on the steering wheel. "I'm an idiot that's why. So after Warped we all went home. I didn't find out until a month after tour ended" She mumbled. After a few seconds she sat up. "So you guys were in the UK, time differences and all that shit got in the way and stopped me from being able contact you easily. I tried calling you but we always missed each other. After 3 months of trying I got annoyed. You were supposed to be my boyfriend but you barely spoke to me. Time continued on and I got bigger and bigger. I didn't tell anyone because of what happened the last time. I know these are shitty excuses but it's the truth" She finished.

"So I missed the first two and a half years of my kids life because you couldn't get in contact with me. Wow, tbat's great" I spat the words at her.

"I'm sorry okay. I made a mistake but seriously Vic I disappeared. You didn't see or hear anything about me. I had to watch you guys continue to rise. Watch you with new girls even though we never offically broke up. Jenna would tell me things about the guys and I missed it so much I-".

"Wait, Jenna knows about the kid but I didn't?" I asked in anger.

"Yes but-" I began.

It all makes sense now. Whenever Jenna would come to stay with us she would disappear for like a week... she was with you wasn't she?" I asked.

"Yeah she came to help me out" She said looking down at her hands.

"I'm so fucking angry, you know that!" I shouted.

"I'm fucking sorry okay. Things haven't been easy for me. They were terrible and hard. I wanted to give up so bad but I didn't. Okay" She snapped.

"They wouldn't have been so fucking hard if you just I don't know, told me!" I screamed back at her. She looked really hurt but didnt say anything. I opened the car door and got out. "This is a fucking mistake okay. I swear I am so fucking angry at you!" I shouted back into the car at her.

"Mommy" A small voice shouted with concern. I looked up tp see Elisa standing with Taylor.

Hayley got out the car and rushed over to console Elisa. "Hey it's okay" She cooed.

"Don't shout at my mommy!" Elisa shouted in my direction. It hurt because this is my child and she just shouted at me. She thinks I'm just a stranger.

"I'm sorry" I said softly.

Hayley looked into Elisas eyes and grabbed her hand. "Come on I want you to meet someone okay" She said softly to the confused child. She took Elisa's hand and guided her over to me. "Elisa, this is your daddy" Hayley said cautiously.

Elisa looked up at me with a strange look on her face. "What's a daddy?" She asked.

"A daddy is another person who takes care of you" Hayley said. She bent down and picked Elisa up. She clung onto Hayley for dear life.

"Don't be scared of me. I'm not a bad person. Your mommy and I just had a disagreement" I said softly to her.

"You said bad words" Elisa said softly.

"I know, I really shouldn't have and I'm sorry for doing that" I apologised.

"Mommy, is daddy coming to live with us?" Elisa asked with excitement.

Hayley looked up at me and bit her lip. "No Elisa, I don't think so but we are gonna work something out where you can see daddy. He has been really busy recently and he couldn't come see you but he is available now" Hayley explained.

"Yeah, daddy wants to get to know you more. Show me your favourite toys and tell me about your favourite TV shows" I smiled at Elisa.

"Spongebob" Elisa said quickly.

"Spongebob is my favourite too" I smiled at her. Her face lit up.

"Mommy" She said excitedly to Hayley.

"We used to call your mom Spongebob actually" I laughed remembering back to then. Things were certainly different now, I mean half an hour ago I was just a regular guy and now I have a kid. The world works in strange ways.

"Hey, um do you wanna come over for dinner and hang out?" Hayley suddenly asked. "We need to discuss this maturely" She smiled.

I looked at Elisa's face. She had a pleading smile on it. "Sure, of course" I smiled back. "I'll just follow you okay?" I explained.

"See you there" Hayley smiled and they got back in her car.

I walked back to my car and got in. I sat for a second and thought outloud. "Well fuck"
