Mike's Point of View

"I don't know what to do. I got her jewelry. Flowers. Chocolate. I put up a light in our daughter's room. I fixed all the broken stuff in the house. I've been super dad, I've been spending so much time with Sam it's crazy. I don't go out with the guys. I don't drink no matter how much I want too. I don't know what to do." I confessed to Vic, "Dude you cheated on Karen. She's pregnant with your second kid. It makes sense she hates you." "Vic she doesn't even look at me anymore." "I think you just need to accept it and let Karen come to you." I nodded. He was right maybe I was trying to hard to get Karen to love me again... "Well not that I don't love you Vic but I need to get home." he nodded "See you later man."

I pulled up to the drive way to see Karen beat me home. I sighed, and looked at the front window. Karen has been leaving the curtains open the past couple of days since it's been such pretty natural lighting. She was sitting on the floor with Sam, they were drawing again. Did I really have to go inside. I sat there staring in at them before Karen looked up and we made eye contact. Her smile vanished and it looked like she was about to start crying. I watched as she put her pencil down and picked Sam up adjusting him around her baby belly before the two of them walked upstairs. She really did hate me....

I ended up going inside. I couldn't leave no matter how hard I tried. I know I ruined this relationship but I was determined to try to get it back to where it was. I walked into the kitchen and got a water bottle. "Hey." I looked up to see Karen walk into the kitchen. She pulled her sweater over her hands and didn't make eye contact with me. "Hi." I responded, we both stood there awkwardly for a few moments. "I think I can forgive now...." Karen started. I felt a smile coming to my face, "Really?" she nodded "You really have proved you're dedicated to this family but before I accept you as my husband and not just the father of my children... you need to know how bad it feels to be cheated on by the person you love more than anything." I knew she was right but that didn't make it hurt any less. "What?" "Mike the only way I won't leave you is if I cheat on you. In our bed. While you watch."
