Vic's Point of View

"Mom he's not gonna want me there." I said softly leaning against the kitchen counter. "Baby, no one cares anymore. They understand, Mike's still a little mad, but Karen wants Sam to meet you." she replied before going back to stirring something in a pot. "Okay I'll go..." "Thank you Vic." she kissed my forehead and poured the pot into a plastic container thing. "What did you make?" I questioned her taking in the delicious smell of spices and cooked meat. "Chile rellenos, empanadas, sopapillas, and carne en su jugo." she smiled and started putting the multiple containers in a paper bag.

"Hey guys." Mama Perry smiled opening the door when we got to the door. "Is Sam here yet?" Mama asked walking in me and Papa following. “Not yet, Karen texted me saying she forgot something at the tattoo parlor and they’d be here soon.” she smiled “How nice you guys brought food.” she smiled again and took the bag from mom. “Make yourselves comfortable, Tony and Melinda are already here.”

“Hey Tony.” I said sitting down across from him and Melinda. “Hi Vic.” Melinda smiled sweetly, Tony glared at me. Well half of Pierce the Veil is mad at me, I ignored it and sat there. “Oh weren’t they just the cutest little babies.” I heard my mom cooing over something. “Well my mom broke out the photo albums.” Tony laughed “Sam looks just like Karen.” I heard Mama Perry say from the kitchen.

“Ma i’m home!” I heard her angelic voice call. “Where’s my grandson!” Mama Perry squealed. “I swear Mike was-” Karen walked back outside. “I want to meet that little cutie already.” Mom whined. “He’s pretty cute.” Tony commented “Sorry for the wait, car seats are really confusing.” Mike said carrying a baby carrier in his left hand and holding Karen’s hand with his right. That should’ve been me, I ignored the thought and watched as Mike put the baby carrier on the table and got Sam out. “Give me my grandchild Mike.” Mama Perry said taking Sam from him. “Hi Sammy, i’m your grandma.” she smiled down at him rocking him slightly “I haven’t held a baby since my little baby Karen.” she was crying a little. Sam was passed around the room everyone was smiling and cooing at him. It was my turn, I held him he was awake and staring up at me. He had the Fuentes eyes, he could’ve been my kid. He could’ve passed as my kid, I would’ve treated Karen right. I wouldn’t cheat on her. I wouldn’t lie to her. I would love her and Sam no matter what.

Karen was putting Sam in his carrier while everyone else was in the backyard talking and eating. I took a deep breath and walked into the kitchen. “Hey K.” she looked up at me and rolled her eyes. “K, please?” I asked her softly. “What Victor?” she asked annoyed slightly, “I’m sorry about what I did.” she sighed “It’s okay, you just wanted something you couldn’t have.” she laughed. I smiled “He’s beautiful.” I complemented Sam. “He looks like his daddy.” she smiled “So you and Mike gonna get married or something?” I asked her genuinely curious. “No idea, we don’t really have any plans yet.” she smiled. I nodded “I’m happy for you guys, I wish I was Mike but either way I love Sam even though he isn’t my kid.” Karen nodded “I’m glad you’re okay with all this Vic.”
