Love Like A Tidal Wave

Second Chances

Vic's P.O.V.

Here I was. Standing almost right in front of her. My heart was racing a million beats a second with excitement and nerves. It's the same excitement I had when I first saw her. How bad I wanted to meet her, how bad I needed to meet her. All I can do is stand motionless until she notices me. Her beauty is almost paralyzing.

"Vic?" I heard her say in the middle of the song, snapping me back into reality. I just stared at her, unsure if I should run and kiss her or wait for her to come to me. I can't very well just go after her after what I did. But, some risks are worth taking. I start to walk towards her as she jumps off the stage. Her face is showing happiness but sadness. She starts to take a few steps closer to me as I get closer. Eventually, I'm face to face with her. I push her back against the stage and kiss her as hard as I can. I've missed this. I've missed us. I've miss her. Our lips moving perfectly in sync with one another's. Our tongues tangled with each other's. Everything felt perfect again. I could feel it again. I felt alive. Those sparks were still there and all those butterflies were right back in the pit of my stomach. I felt like we were the only two people in the world...until, of course, I was brought back into reality with a loud cheer.

"Shut up!" I pulled just barely away from Kaylee's lips to yell at the guys and Kelsie who were sitting at the end of the stage. Kaylee was looking up at me with those bright, sparkling blue eyes. I went back to kiss her again but she looked away.

"I-I can't.." She looked down at the ground.

"Why can't you?" The word can't never seemed so powerful nor heartbreaking before this. "Don't even say you don't want to be with me, because I know you do."

"I do but-"

"No. There's no butts if you want to be with someone." I was afraid this would happen. She doesn't want to be with me all because i just had to listen to her brother. She didn't even respond. She just shook her head and walked away. I'm not letting her go that easy again so I went after her. I grabbed her by the shoulder and turned her towards me. "Please."

"You took my brother's side. You didn't answer my calls or my texts. You just up and left with only an 'I'm sorry'. YOU LISTENED TO BROTHER WHO HAS BEEN TRYING TO GET BETWEEN US." She's right. I shouldn't have listened to him but hurting her was just the last thing I wanted to do. I thought maybe, Konnor was on to something but clearly I was wrong.

"I'm sorry...I am but I just didn't want to hurt you. I'm sorry Kaylee. I've regretted it everyday since. Please." I know that pleading usually gets you nowhere in life but there's nothing else I can do. I need her.

"You know? Some people deserve second chances but never get them. Other people who don't deserve second chances, get twenty chances. So the ultimate question is, are you going to be the one to keep getting chance after chance and keep fucking up or are you going to take your second chance and run with it?" She's going to be the death of me if she's going to start pulling this. It just makes me more crazy about her. I'm not even sure if that's a rhetorical question or if she's serious. Gaahhhh. She raises an eyebrow like she's expecting an answer.

"I'd take my second chance and run with it. I'd run to the end of the world for you, Darling." Finally, there was that cynical smirk I've been missing so much. I'm getting my second chance. I feel like I might just jump out of my skin from pure happiness.

"Don't be all cocky now." She laughs reading the smile I have across my face. There's that gorgeous laugh. "Second chances may only come once in lifetime ya? Don't waste it." I don't think she can wipe that smirk off her face if she tried.

"I won't. I promise I'll never hurt you again." I don't care what happens, but I mean it. I'm never going to hurt her.

"Pinkey promise?" She stuck out her pinkey towards me. Is she serious? "You can't just break a pinkey promise. It's like a law. But if you do, I get to beat you up." She laughs still holding her pinkey out towards me. Whatever will please that little head of hers.

"Pinkey promise." Right then, I knew, taking her pinkey into mine, that it wasn't going to be easy, but we were going to make it. She kissed me as soon as I took her pinkey. I don't ever want this to end, her lips on mine. They're so warm and soft but of course, all great things must come to an end.

"Vic's gonna get it in!!!!" Mike yells from now a few yards away.

"Shut the fuck up damn it!" Kaylee tries to yell through our mouths and between giggles. Kelsie ran up from behind me and pulled Kaylee a few inches away.

"Take a breath." Kelsie laughs while staring at me. She looks back and Kaylee and says "I got my Kayls back! You are fucking welcome. They called me and I got you here for him and you are welcome." Kelsie just got cockier as she went on making everyone laugh.

"Well thanks." Kaylee pushes her away and comes back into my arms. I'm just gonna drag her around like this forever. I don't want to ever let go of her.

"Weeellllpppppp, I think it's time for a celebration!" Mike says while walking up from behind me with the rest of the guys.

"Any excuse you can find to drink huh?" I ask jokingly.

"You know I don't need an excuse." Mike says and then asks if we should go the club where I met Kaylee. Me, Kaylee, and Kelsie road in Kaylee's car while Mike, Jaime, and Tony road in Mike's. Kaylee's going to be the designated driver since she's not old enough drink nor does she trust anyone to drive her car. Kelsie will be driving Mike's car, since we all know how shit faced those three can get. We get to the club and it's pretty crowded. We aren't there long before some girl comes up to me and tries flirting as I'm getting drinks.

"Hey, you're like super cute. Wanna get out of here?" She slurs her words, clearly intoxicated.

"Nope." I say as I pay for the drinks.

"Come on. It'll be fun." She persists while twirling her hair. Girls these days.

"I said no." Just then Kaylee comes and gives me a hug from behind giving the girl a cocky smile. "Oh and look. There's the beautiful girlfriend now." I turn around and kiss Kaylee. The girl glares at Kaylee and walks off pissed.

"Girlfriend eh?" Kaylee giggles slightly embarrassed.

"Yup! And there's nothing, you, can do about it." I pause and kiss her in between words.

"Didn't say I wasn't okay with it." She grabs some of the drinks and takes them back to the table. All I keep thinking about, is how much my parents would actually like her. My parents, like my girlfriend? What? But she would just fit in so perfectly.

"Can I talk to you outside for a quick second?" I smile showing that it wasn't anything bad.

"Sure." She smiles as i grab her hand and take her outside. "Hmmm back to where it started eh?"

"Haha yes. Of course! But I actually had a question." Her eyes widened with curiousity but her smile never fading. "What do you think about coming back to San Deigo with me and meeting my parents?"

Notes

Hey look! Another happy chapter! I'm probably going to try and keep things a little happier for a few chapters because ya know? *Spoiler alert* The ending is gonna be sad.

But anyway, thanks so much for the subscribes and votes! It means a lot! Comment what you guys think so far! It would mean a lot to hear what you guys are thinking.

Oh, yeah. Off topic but if you haven't read "Looking For Alaska" by John Green, I demand you to do it. It's ridicuoulsly sad and I hate my friend for having me read it but uuuggghhhh it's so good.

Okay I'm done rambling, enjoy! :D
