Adopted

Fionna's POV

I didn't know what to do with myself after the phone call. I loved them but like I said before... Do they love me? I wanted to go back and hug each and everyone of those idiots but the other side wanted to keep running, to make their lives easier.

Jake comes back in to check on me and he hands me a box of tissues. I was confused at first until I realized that I was crying. Jake pulls me into a hug and kisses the top of my head.

"You don't have to work today if you don't want to."

"No, I HAVE to do this. I need to accept this mission and fINISH IT!" I said, trying to lighten the mood. I hate moments like that...
He laughs and shrugs. "Well, you can go ahead and stop if you ever feel like you don't want to do anything anymore." he nudges me before we get back to work.

I put on my warmest smile and worked hard until shop hours were over.

I dropped down onto the couch and thought about getting somethings for my room, so that it would be so empty.
I decided to go out and buy a couple of things with Jake following behind me.
He wanted to pay for everything even though I didn't want him to.
Finally, I just went along with it.
I'm planning on paying for expensive things and I guess he could be me a... Pack of gum?

We went our separate way in the store to see what rad things we could find.
It was only 10 minutes after that when I started to feel like I was being watched.

The fact that the store was mostly empty scared me because, there's no one in sight but someone could be watching me...

I tried to shake the feeling off but I just couldn't.
My stomach started to twist and turn. It didn't feel right.
I see Jake checking out a couple of things and I thought that I would probably feel safer around him.
I only take about three steps before someone grabs and pulls me towards them.

I tried to scream and run, but he put his hand around my mouth and he had his arm tightly wrapped around my body.
I bit down on his hand but all that lead to was a brutal slap. "Oh, feisty. Did my princess miss me?"

Oh my god. It's him! The man who raped me! How did he find me!? What did he want from me!?

My eyes widened and I tried to fight back with everything I had in me. But what was the point? All he did was hold me tighter and hit me.
"If you don't fucking stop right now, I will snap your neck." he whispered into my ear. His breath against my ear sent a chill down my spine.
"Now, you listen and you listen good. So I found out that you were adopted my a nice little band... I want you to call them and tell them I want 500 grand!"

He grabbed my phone out of my back pocket and handed it to me. I looked for Austin's number and called him.
The man snatched the phone from my hands and held it to his ear.
I could hear Austin's voice on the other side. "Fionna! Oh god, sweetie, please come home. We miss y-"

"Hello! I saw your little Fionna and I decided to pay her a visit," he said, cutting Austin off.
"I-It's you... If you hurt my daughter, I swear I will find you and rip you apart!"
"Is that really how you should be talking to me when I have your daughter in my arms?"

Austin tried to calm himself down. He stayed quiet for a moment and finally said something. "What the fuck do you want?" Austin said, his voice full of anger.

"I want $500,00 by Friday or else, I take another round with the princess and kill her! I'll make sure to video tape it and send it to you..."

When those words went through my ears, I dropped to my knees and cried harder. I wanted to scream so badly, but I knew if I did, he would just snap my neck.

"I can't get 500 grand in 3 days!"
"well, isn't that a shame? Hey Princess, is there something you would like to say to him before I hang up?" he hissed.
He held the phone to my ear as I could hear Austin crying. "Austin? I'm sorry for all the trouble and pain I caused you. I love you so much and I'm so sorry!" I cried.
"Oh, Fionna. The only pain you left was when you ran away. I love y-" Ausin said, before the man hung up and slammed my phone against the floor.

"You could have at least let him finish!" I yell at him. He spits in my face and slaps me. "Don't fucking yell at me."
He started dragging me out the door as I see Jake in the corner of my eye.
As he drags me through the exit, Jake starts running towards us.
The man throws me into his car and by the time Jake made it to the exit, I was already being driven somewhere...

Okay. I'm sorry that is took nearly a month to update. This is actually my 3rd attempt of trying to update because last night, it glitched and it only shows a small part of the story. I had to start all over again and it did the same thing.

Finally, I did it! I hope you guys enjoyed it even though I left a major cliffhanger.
