Hail Mary, Forgive Me

Here's To The Perfect Weapon

Natalie straightened her thin vest and fixed her waist long hair that she still had tied up in a tight ponytail. She glanced at her outfit once more, before nodding at herself. She knocked on the door of the apartment and waited as someone answered. After a few seconds, Vic answered and smiled. "Hey, you must be Natalie. Come in, nice shirt." He commented, moving aside as she stepped in.

"Thanks." She smiled and saw Mike walk by with a few paper plates.

"Hey Nat." He smiled, looking at her shirt. "I'll be sure not to." He winked at her, causing her to laugh. She rolled her eyes as she followed Mike to the porch similar to hers.

"Would you like a beer, Natalie?" Vic asked. Natalie nodded.

"Yeah please?" Vic nodded as Mike placed the paper plates on the glass table.

"Tony and Jaime went to get some ice from the shop across the street; they'll be back in a bit."

"Okay." Natalie responded, sitting on a chair by the wall. "It smells really good." She commented, taking a bit in of the smell.

"Thanks, it's just some burgers that we usually start with." Mike said, sitting on her left side. Vic came out with the cooler and place three beers on the table. He sat across from Natalie and smiled.

"So Natalie, how did you end up meeting Tony?" Vic asked.

"I was walking around town with my camera, taking pictures of a few things but I wanted something nicer, you know? I heard a couple cheering and chanting coming from a theater where there was a show going on and I decided to go around and see if I could sneak in to take some shots. I ended up finding Tony slumped against the wall and I took a picture of him. He sounded a bit angry when he saw me and he asked if I wanted an autograph, like he's someone famous you know?" Natalie giggled, remembering it. Mike and Vic chuckled, looking at each other knowing why he had asked. "After, we just talked and I ended up leaving after the second time of you guys calling him in, to finish watching the concert I guess. We said good-bye and next thing you know, we're staying in the same condo."

"Yeah, we were in the elevator when you walked in on the phone. Jaime elbowed Tony and he blushed. Seems he found a soft spot for you." Natalie laughed.

"I thought you said Jaime had a soft spot for me!" She asked Mike. He shrugged and Vic laughed.

"Did I?" Mike chuckled. Natalie laughed and sat back in her chair, taking the beer in her hands. It was cold and she smiled, loving the way it felt in her hands. She heard the door open and she looked through the sliding door to see Jaime with two bags of ice and Tony with another two, walking in.

"You fucking turtle! I could've died!" Jaime yelled, running to the porch and dropping the bags on the floor. Natalie let out a giggle and Jaime ran to her arms. "Natalie protect me!" He screamed as Tony laughed inside.

"Shut up Jaime!" Tony yelled from inside. He opened the freezer door, placing the bags of ice inside and walked out to the porch to see Vic shaking his head as Mike chugged down his beer and Jaime hugging Natalie. She stroked his hair and looked at him, laughing as he faked his cries. "You know he's faking it right Nat?" Tony asked, grabbing an ice bag and dumping the ice in a cooler.

"Really? Jaime wouldn't do that to me, right Jaime?" Natalie asked him as he nodded, smiling.

"No, of course not! Hold me!" Natalie laughed and pulled back.

"Suck it up, man!" She smiled. Jaime pulled away laughing and shrugged.

"What can I say; Tony gets pretty scary when he's chasing you." He winked and Natalie let out a laugh. He moved to sit between the two brothers and Tony handed him a beer as he sat between Natalie and Vic.

"So Natalie, do you work or what?" Mike asked.

"Yeah, I work at a diner like ten minutes from here. I'm the head waitress but I'm hoping to leave that soon and go into photography." Vic looked at her and bit his tongue from telling her about Adam, a good friend of theirs who's also a photographer.

"Photography is good. Especially when you know all those effects and other cool stuff." Jaime smiled. "I look forward to seeing you doing what you love."

Mike nodded and looked over to Natalie. "Same here. There are lots of photographers that I
know that are really amazing. They came from amazing backgrounds but I'm pretty sure that in the future we can put in a good word." Mike winked. Natalie smiled and thanked him. "The fucking burgers!" Mike yelled, making Natalie jump as he ran to the grill. He opened it and a lot of smoke began coming out and he cursed under his breath.

"Well, burned burgers it is!" Vic cheered.

"Hime-Time!" Jaime yelled and turned on the radio. Breath Carolina began playing and Mike bobbed his head along to the music. Natalie opened her can and took a drink of her beer, enjoying the taste of it.

"Vic, help me start making them yeah?" Mike asked. Vic got up, helping his brother as Jaime began dancing in his chair and laughing. Natalie shook her head and looked at Tony.

"Is he always this way?" She questioned. Tony smiled and nodded, looking at her.

"Yeah, but he's worse when he's drunk." Natalie laughed and felt her phone ring. She took it out of her bag and looked at the caller ID, smiling as she saw Danny's name.

"Calling already? Why is that?" She asked, answering the phone. Danny laughed and sighed deeply.

'I wanted to know if you could possibly get a flight to come out for tomorrow. I miss you.'
Natalie smiled and looked at Jaime who turned the radio down. Mike and Vic set the ready burgers on the table and Tony grabbed one giving it to her. Natalie took it and she smiled, silently thanking him.

"I miss you too but I have work for the next few weeks. I can't just leave to go and see you! Even if you beg!" She cut him off before he could say anything.

'It was a suggestion! But if you are sure than fine, stay in your boring ass job being lonely and don't come here with me and party all night long and drink everyday and get wasted.'
He taunted.

"Please, a good doctor wouldn't do that." Natalie rolled her eyes, taking a bite of her burger.

'Whatever, but still you're missing out.’
He chuckled. ‘I'll keep in touch okay? Talk to you later, love you.'

"Love you too, bye." Natalie hung up and pocketed her phone. "I like them, they don't taste burned." She commented, taking another bite of her burger.

"Thanks." Mike commented, looking at Tony. He was looking at the table and Jaime cleared his throat.

"Oh!" Natalie said. She whipped her phone out and quickly dialed Danny back, placing the phone in speaker. It rang a couple times as they all stayed quiet to hear what was going to happen.

'What? I'm watching a damn movie!'
Danny complained, answering.

"Shut up and greet my friends! Mike, Vic, Jaime, and Tony!" Natalie yelled back.

'Hey, hi, hello, greetings.'
Danny said. Natalie rolled her eyes and smiled.

"Guys, this is my brother Danny, the idiot of the family." She smiled. Tony's eyes brightened right away and Mike chuckled.

"Danny! Come over and hang brother!" Jaime yelled, taking a huge chug of his beer.

'Will you pay for my flight, stay at a hotel and come up with some stupid excuse to leave work?' Natalie rolled her eyes and shook her head.

"Goodbye Danny, watch your movie and I'll talk to you later." Natalie hung up before he began yelling again and she pocketed it. "Sorry about him, I haven't seen him in like three years."

"Why is that?" Tony asked, taking a bite out of burger.

"I live here and he lives in New York. I travel everywhere in the US, taking photos. But for the last year and a half, I've been stuck here working." Tony nodded and Vic finished his burger, getting another round of beers for everybody.

"Dude, where haven't you gone?" Vic asked. Natalie looked at the sky and began thinking.

"Outside of the US. I really would like to go to Mexico and South America. But in the US, I've never been to Texas, New Orleans, and Maine." Natalie said, counting them off on her fingers.

"Really?" Mike asked. Natalie nodded and she took another bite of her burger.

"I would've expected you to not visit a lot more states." Jaime commented, chugging another beer. Natalie smiled and shook her head.

"Nope. But I really would like to go to New York again. Only to see my brother. I loved going there every month. We would meet up for lunch and go take pictures around town. People, places, events. You name it, we did it." She smiled, opening her second can of beer and drinking it down. Tony nodded and she smiled over at him, a smile he soon returned. Vic looked at his phone and swiped the screen, leaving the room answering it. Mike looked over at him and watched as he sat on the couch, talking.

Natalie took another drink from her beer and set it aside, not wanting to get too tipsy. She yawned a bit tired. Natalie stretched in her seat and could feel the stiffness in her back from sleeping on the chair on the porch. She shook her head a bit and looked over the rail behind her. She could see the street below her and saw all the tiny people walking around and doing what they wanted to do. She looked around at the city and admired it. She could see the tall hills and the lights of houses perfectly adorning them.

She grabbed her bag and unzipped it, moving her wallet and taking her camera out, never leaving it at home. She stood up, putting the strap around her neck and leaned on the rail. She carefully leaned over it and angled the camera until she could get a perfect view. Natalie moved the lens around a bit and finally snapped the picture, enjoying how it came out. She leaned back and sat back on her chair. She turned her camera off and took it off, carefully putting it back in her bag. Mike smiled as he watched her and shook his head. Tony admired how her eyes lit up when she got the perfect shot. Jaime was too drunk to notice. Vic came back and sat down on his seat, yawning. Mike gave him a curious look and Vic held his index finger up, signaling he'll tell him later. Natalie sat back in her chair and yawned again, checking her phone for the time. It was close to 11 and she decided to call it a night.

"Thanks for the invite." She smiled. Tony looked at her and Vic raised an eyebrow.

"You're calling in already? It's far too early." She shrugged and yawned again.

"I have work tomorrow. I start at 12." She explained.

"You have more time with us! Now come on! Don't be a party pooper!" Jaime yelled. Natalie sighed and looked at her clothes.

"Alright fine. Let me at least change clothes and I'll come back yes?" She asked. The group nodded and she excused herself, walking in the house and leaving out the front door.

Vic turned to his beer and nodded. "She's really nice. I can't believe though that she hasn't heard of us though. There were advertises everywhere about our concert." He said.

"They didn't have our faces. Plus, only the theater advertised it with the sign. The rest was on our website and any other site." Mike mentioned, drinking his beer.

"He has a point." Tony added as Jaime played with his iPod checking for another song to put on.

"I like her." Jaime blurted out. They all turned to him and he was putting the iPod next to the stereo it was plugged into. "She's really nice and stuff. Tony, you can't do this to her." Tony rolled his eyes.

"Not again." He mumbled.

"Seriously Antonio!" Jaime yelled, slamming his hands on the table. "Think about what you're doing to the poor girl." Vic put his hand on Jaime's shoulder, calming him down a bit while he sat back and shook his head in disappointment.

"Listen Tony, the faster you tell her, the easier it'll be." Tony took off his Key Street hat, tossing it on the table and running a hand through his long bangs.

"How am I supposed to do that? I have to get her to trust me first!" Tony practically yelled at Jaime.

"Dude, just please be careful. She's really sweet and she doesn’t deserve this." Jaime said, just above a whisper. Tony looked at his hands and nodded.

"I won't hurt her. That's the last thing I want to do." Tony said, looking at Jaime.
