Hail Mary, Forgive Me

I'm The Type Of Person To Take It Personal

*Tony’s POV*

I sat in the back room, looking through my phone. Vic came up next to me and took a picture of both of us, posting it on Twitter and Instagram. My phone was blown up by notifications, the first being the photo Vic took, then people tagging us in comments. I clicked on the photo and looked at the caption.

’Hey SD! We have a surprise for you!’
I chuckled seeing people begin asking what it was and others saying they wished they living here. I saw a comment from a girl saying she couldn’t wait to see us during our tour and she had VIP passes. I decided to make her happier and responded back to her.

‘Thanks for the kind words! We’ll keep our eyes open for you when you get to Washington!’
I knew she would freak and I grinned, loving the way I made her day.

“Hey Tony, you ready? The place is ready to open; they’re just waiting on some people.” Mike said, poking his head through the door. I nodded, grabbing my hat and sitting on the side of the stage with Vic and Jaime. We made sure not to be in people’s way and we watched Mice walk around, getting last minute things. Austin walked up to us and placed his two cans of Monster on the table.

“So we won’t tell the crowd you guys are here until our supposed intermission. We’ll have an hour break and then we’ll continue from there.” He smiled at us.

“Thanks Austin.” Vic grinned and he walked away, getting more things. We heard a buzz and that’s when we knew the doors were open, people ran in, getting to the front while others tried to get closer. I watched people as they talked, waiting impatiently for the show to start.

‘Alright San Diego listeners, how many of you are waiting for the venue to open to see Of Mice & Men?’
The man on the radio asked. Natalie listened as he chuckled and continued to talk. ‘Like I said, we have Austin Carlile here on what to expect here. Austin?’

‘Hello there!’
Austin’s happy voice filled the car and Natalie smiled. ‘Info you said right?’ Austin asked.

‘Yep!’
The radio guy answered.

‘Well, crowd surfing is one thing. New merch at out merch tents and a special surprise for all the people attending.’ Danny and Natalie neared the venue and she looked at the place.

“Wow, the line is huge!” She gawked as Danny parked near the back.

“I know, come on.” He smiled, turning the car off and hopping out. Natalie took her purse and followed him, hearing her car make two small beeps, signaling it was locked. Danny walked next to Natalie and she looked around.

“Danny, what are we doing here?” She asked. The back of the line was close and Danny took her hand; leading her to the front. “Where are we Danny?” Many people gave them dirty looks as they skipped them and they reached the front.

“I have two tickets reserved under the name Sammi.” Danny told the guards. They looked through the paper they had and nodded, taking out the two tickets and giving it to them.

“Have fun.” They opened the doors to them and they walked in. Natalie took a ticket in her and read it.

“No way! We’re going to see Of Mice and Men?” She nearly shouted. Danny laughed and she hugged him. “Thanks!” They walked into the part where the concert was going to be and walked to the front, just like Natalie loved. People began piling in and Danny stood behind Natalie, so he wouldn’t lose her and she could take photos. People were cheering around her and she smiled, looking at the stage. Everything was set. Tino’s drums were ready, the microphone stand for Aaron was there, the amps for Aaron, Phil and Alan were on and connected. All that was left was for the lights to turn off and the band to go on stage.

Danny looked at all the people around him and down at Natalie. She wasn’t jumping, talking, laughing or even crying. She was just staring at the stage, happy. Danny leaned down and looked at her. “Happy?” He asked. Natalie grinned and took a photo of both of them.

“Very!” She giggled. She took a few shots of the stage before the lights dimmed and Tino came on stage, followed by Phil, Alan, Aaron, and finally Austin. They began playing O.G. Loko and everyone screamed along to the song. Natalie took photos, head banging and singing. Austin got off stage, taking a few hands in his before he locked eyes with Natalie. He instantly recognized those bright blue eyes. He stopped singing for the instrumental part and neared her ear.

“You came to a show almost two years ago right, in Texas? With BMTH and Suicide Silence?” Natalie grinned, nodding and surprised he remembered her.

“I recognized those blue eyes. Write down your phone number and I’ll call you. You took some amazing shots that year!” Austin smiled and went back on stage to finish the song. Natalie gave her camera to Danny and took out a pen and paper from her bag.

“You’re giving him your phone number?” Danny asked.

“He said I took amazing shots! I’m not missing an opportunity to work for a band!” She wrote her number and held on, still taking photos. Austin glanced at her and she showed him the paper. He went over and got it, smiling at her.

“Hello San Diego! How are tonight?” Austin screamed after a few more songs. The crowd cheered and Natalie put her camera around her neck. “Awesome! We’re going to have an intermission right now, but it’s longer than before. Reason being, is because we have a special surprise for everyone!” The crowd went crazy. “We have a band with us tonight who gladly accepted performing with us! Let’s get this party started with those crazy Mexicans, Pierce The Veil!” The crowd went insane and Danny smiled, recognizing the name of the band from a few teenage patients who would mention them during small talk. Natalie had no clue but waited to see about them.

“We’re just going to give them five minutes to get ready and they’ll be right out!” Aaron grinned into the microphone and they all walked off. Natalie shut off her camera and smiled and Danny.

“Thanks for this. So far, it’s been the best night ever!” Danny laughed and nodded.

“I like it too.” They stood and waited for the second band to come out and perform.

Tony leaned back into the chair, looking at his phone’s wallpaper, which had him and Natalie. He knew Natalie was with her brother today and even though he wanted to text her, he knew he shouldn’t interrupt their time. “We ready?” Vic called and soon, he appeared guitar on, pick in mouth and Tony’s guitar in hand.

“I am.” Tony left his phone with the manager of Mice and grabbed his guitar.

“I’m too pumped for this!” Jaime cheered, jumping from foot to foot. He had his bass on him, pick in hand and hair spiked up. Mike came up, shirtless as always and gave Tony his guitar pick. Mike spun his drumsticks in his hand and the cue was given to them to go on stage.

“Here we go!” Mike cheered and tightly gripped his sticks in his hand before running out.
