Hail Mary, Forgive Me

The Flood

Natalie and Tony walked around the mall, window shopping, buying new hats for Tony and plugs, when a tattoo place caught their attention. Tony looked at it and he pulled Natalie back. “So… how about those matching tattoos?” Tony asked. Natalie looked at the small place and she bit her lip.

“Does it hurt?” She asked.

“Are you afraid of needles?” He asked. Natalie shook her head. “Then it won’t hurt a bit. It’s like getting a shot.” Natalie nodded and Tony walked in, seeing the designs. He eyed the turtle with the red hat and he bit his lip, holding back his urgency to get it.

“Why don’t we get that?” Natalie asked him, pointing to the turtle Tony was eyeing. “With the word ‘forever’?” Tony loved the idea of that and he grinned.

“Yeah!” Natalie grinned back and they set their appointment. The shop wasn’t full so they went in right away and Tony explained the tattoo. The girl wrote the word in a beautiful font and added the turtle in the end. She sat Natalie on a leather chair with a small table next to her with cloth over it. Tony sat on her right and held her other hand. She looked at him and he smiled.

“Best idea ever.” He kissed her. Natalie pulled away when the girl came back and put rubbing alcohol on her. Natalie watched as she began the tattoo and squeezed Tony’s hand tightly, a bit in pain. Tony kissed her right hand, assuring her that it would be over soon.
Once the girl finished, Tony placed his right hand on the table and the girl put the rubbing alcohol on him. He flinched at the first poke and relaxed after. Natalie put her head on Tony’s shoulder and looked at her red flesh. She saw a few blood spots and she grabbed the clean alcohol napkin. She wiped her hand clean of blood and ignored the stinging pain. Tony pulled his hand back when he finished and gave the girl his credit card. He cleaned his hand, and smiled at the finished work.

“Here’s your card, thanks for coming by.” The girl smiled, placing Tony’s card on the table.

“Thanks.” Tony smiled, pocketing the card and standing up. He grabbed Natalie’s left hand with his right one and they inspected the new tattoo.

“I love it.” Natalie smiled. Tony nodded and looked at her. Natalie looked at him and he pulled her out of the parlor. They walked until they met up with the group and Linda began asking about the tattoos. Tony and Natalie smiled at each other.

“Just a little fun.” Tony smiled. Natalie returned it and they all decided to go back home. The gang walked back to the condo and relaxed at the couch at the guys place, watching a movie and talking. Danny went to the kitchen, grabbing a bottle of water and Sammi followed, grabbing three beers. Danny smiled at her and she waved him over. Danny walked over and she looked up at him.

“I got tickets for you and Nat to go see Of Mice and Men in three days, but it’s a surprise okay?” Danny grinned and placed the water bottles on the counter.

“No way, how?” He asked her. Sammi rolled her eyes and smiled.

“I have my ways. Now, you both can skip the line and go straight to the security guards and tell them you have reserved tickets for Sammi. After that you guys have full access to go to the barricade.” Danny grinned and scoffed.

“Thanks Sammi, I’ll be sure to keep this a secret.” She smiled and uncapped the beers.

“But remember, you never got them from me.” Danny grinned and took the water bottles, handing one to Linda.

“I’m calling it a night. I’m tired.” Danny stretched. “Thanks for today guys.” Natalie looked at him and smiled.

“Spend the night at my place, we can talk and catch up fully.” Danny nodded, not planning on telling her about the concert. They both said their goodbyes and left the apartment, going to Nat’s. The rest stayed, talking about their day before they all called it a night as well. Just as they were about to leave, Vic’s phone rang.

“Hello?” Vic answered.

‘Hey Vic, Austin here. I heard you guys were in SD and we wanted to know if you guys wanted to a concert with us. A surprise for the fans.’
Austin suggested.

“Hey, that would be great! I’m sure the guys would be up for it!” They said their goodbyes and Vic turned to the group. “Mice are performing in a few days so they want us to do a show with them.” The guys agreed and Jaime turned to Tony.

“We haven’t had a guy’s night out in a while; tell Natalie that we’re doing that.” Tony nodded, stoked that he can finally let loose and perform.

“I wil!, I’m so stoked for this!” Elsie looked over at Sammi and she looked away, walking to the bedroom she and Mike shared. She changed into a tank top and shorts, sitting on the edge of the bed.

“Mary, forgive me.” She whispered, looking at the bright moon. “But this needs to stop.” She climbed under to covers and rested her head on the pillow, listening to the door open.

“Babe? You asleep?” Mike whispered. Sammi turned to him and he got onto the bed, hugging her tightly. “Thanks for being here for Tony and Nat. I know how hard this is.” Sammi stayed quiet and squeezed her eyes closed. She said a silent prayer for forgiveness and fell asleep in Mike’s arms.
