“So when are you and Mike going to jam with Tony and Jaime?” Tegan asked as she and Vic got ready to go out for breakfast.

“Hopefully soon, they’re really chill guys and they love music as much as we do.” He smiled at the thought.

“Maybe they’re what you two need to get this whole band thing going”

“Yeah maybe, even if it doesn’t work out it’ll be fun to jam with them. Are you ready because I want some breakfast already?” Vic whined the last part.

“Yes, let’s go” Tegan picked up her coat and took Vic’s hand in hers.

“See you two later” Vivian called from the kitchen.

“Later Mama” They both replied as they exited the door.

The party last night was really fun and the boys seemed to get on well with the other two musicians. Tegan and Mike both cheered up by the end of the night. Vic is going to talk to Mike later about things that can get his brother better, maybe even talk to his parents about it. Tegan feels like this might be a new start for her and Mike, like maybe they could get along. But we’ll have to see how that plans out.


There was a knock at the door and Vivian went to answer it, thinking Vic and Tegan were back early but had forgotten their keys. When she opened the door an unfamiliar woman stood before her.

“Hello?” Vivian greeted.

“Hello, are you Mrs Fuentes?” The woman, in her mid-30s with medium length brown hair asked.

“I am, may I ask who you are?” Vivian enquired.

“My name is Delphi, I’m Tegan’s Aunt. I was told she was living here and I thought I would come by and see her. It’s Saturday so I hoped I would catch her” The woman informed.

“Oh, well she isn’t in at the minute, she’s just gone out for breakfast but she should be back within the next ten or so minutes. You are more than welcome to wait if you want” Vivian offered.

“That would be lovely, thank you” Vivian motioned for the woman to enter and she did; following Vic’s mother to the kitchen.

“I thought Tegan’s family all lived further away?” Vivian asked, still surprised that a member of Tegan’s family was here.

“Well I’m actually Tegan’s only Aunt. I lived in Australia for many years though for my job. I work in the magazine industry. I moved back to the states about 6 months ago, I live in New York but I’ve been looking for Tegan. I just wanted to see how she’s doing.” Delphi told Vivian who now actually recognised the woman before her.

“You know, I actually remember you. Well we never officially met but Karen used to talk about you quite a bit. She was always proud of you for getting that job in Australia. I didn’t recognise you at first but when you said about Australia it clicked. Karen and I were best friends, it’s a shock yours and mine paths never crossed” She laughed a little to herself.

“Vivian? I only knew you were Mrs Fuentes I didn’t realise you were the Vivian. Karen spoke greatly of you. Now I know it’s you that Tegan is with I have nothing to worry about. How is she?” Delphi asked.

“She’s brilliant, her and my Victor are together now, Finally. She’s a good girl.” She started.
“Oh I’m being a terrible host, would you like a drink or anything?” They both chuckled.

“A coffee would be great, thank you” As Delphi said that the front door opened and in walked a laughing Vic and Tegan, hand in hand.

“Guys, come in the kitchen” Vivian called through the house; they did as they were told.

“A-Aunt Delphi?” Tegan questioned and when Delphi confirmed Tegan’s thought she was pulled into a hug.

“I missed you little one.” Delphi said.

“Likewise, what are you doing here? I thought you were in Australia” Delphi wasn’t one for social networking which is why the pair aren’t exactly up to date with one another’s lives.

“I got back 6 months ago. I live in New York now but I wanted to come and visit you. Which proved a lot more difficult without Facebook or anything but I found out you were staying here from Barbara at the diner” Delphi told her niece.

“Oh I haven’t seen Barbara in a while.” They laughed and Tegan introduced Vic to Delphi and they spent the rest of the afternoon catching up and getting to know each other.

“I should probably get going. It was great to see you again Tegan. Now you have my number and address so if you ever want to come and visit just let me know and we’ll arrange something” Tegan nodded and smiled at that suggestion.

“I will thank you.” She hugged her aunt.

“Are you sure I can’t tempt you to stay for dinner?” Vivian asked for the third time.

“I would love to but I have some other things to take care of before I go home tomorrow. Thank you though, it was a pleasure to meet you” She hugged Vivian and Vic.

“Likewise, have a safe trip home” They said goodbye once more and Delphi left.

During their afternoon of bonding Tegan found out that Delphi was still working in the magazine industry and that she has a husband by the name of Marcus. She has an apartment in New York and has a great life right now.

Tegan was so happy to actually have some sort of family, blood family that she could contact. She loved the Fuentes’ more than anything but blood relatives are important too.


It was now Sunday afternoon and Vic had wondered downstairs to find his brother in the basement, working on his drums.

“Hey man, so I uhm was looking at some stuff online about how we can help you” Mike looked up to Vic and nodded a little, indicating for him to go on.

“I think we should do what Tegan and I did with her” He suggested.

“Which was?” Mike questioned.

“Tegan went to a doctor and they gave her some meds and stuff, it really helped her. But I think we should tell mom and dad too” Vic steadied his focus on his brother; he knew it would be difficult but Mike needs as much help as he can get.

“They’ll go mad at me, I can’t tell them” Mike sounded worried.

“They won’t hate you; they’ll want to look out for you, like I do.” Vic gave an endearing smile.

“I don’t know man.” Mike had moved himself over to the couch next to his brother.

“Mike it’s for the best. Tegan only had me and it was really hard for both of us, I think you need as much help and stability as you can get. Mom and Dad will be your stability, I promise. If you want I can say something to them and then get them to talk to you?” Vic only cared about getting his baby brother better, just like he had Tegan.

“That might be better, but tell them to be nice.” Mike let out a chuckle to hide his nerves and pain. He didn’t want them to find out, he didn’t want anyone too but he had made a promise to Vic and when he makes a promise to Vic he never breaks it.

“Of course, I’ll talk to them when they come home. Those beats are sounded sick by the way, Jaime and Tony will be over on Wednesday to jam” Vic told his brother and then went back up to the main part of the house. When up there he was greeted by Tegan who was reading a book in the living room.

He sat next to her and started poking her sides. “What are you reading?” Vic asked.

“It’s a book from school, it’s about writing skills and stuff” She seemed pretty in to it.

“Oh cool, maybe that will help with exams and things like that” He rested his head on her shoulder.

“That’s what I’m hoping” She said as she turned a page.

“I’m glad you’re looking at things to help. I’m proud of you for wanting to help yourself. It shows how strong you are” Vic leaned up and kissed her on the cheek.

“Well I have to make something of myself if you’re going to be a big rock star and everything” She half joked.

“I keep telling you, you can just come on tour with us forever and ever. You can be our band mascot” He winked at her and she just shoved him and turned another page in her book.

Sorry I didn't put much about Delphi in here, I couldn't think up a big old conversation so just left it as this.
