Lizzie's P.O.V.

I couldn't help but notice Anna felt uneasy about this.She was pacing the length of the stage, stopping every now and then to check her bag, to make sure she had packed enough clothes and other necessities.I thought about what we should do while we waited for Vic to get here."Anna!" She jumped up from her bag.It had been about two weeks since the funeral, we worked at the diner to pay for the tickets to California.Pretty soon they would be paying us though, to check sound at each of their shows."Let's do this one last time, before we leave."She looked up at the mic center stage and back at me.I climbed the stairs to the sound booth, once more before I turned it over to a couple of rookies right out of college.
They reminded me of myself, except I was a dropout.Everything they taught me in college, I already knew.I got so bored that I left.My mother screamed at me and my father practically disowned me.I was 18 and I was able to live on my own, so I traveled all the way from New York to Texas, working minor jobs until I was 20.When I walked into this place I was sick as a dog, and I didn't have enough money to even buy cough medicine.Ms. Olivia was my savior, she cleaned me up and gave me cold and flu meds, and nursed me back to health, then she convinced her sister to let me work here.Before she introduced me to Anna, she told me everything that had happened to herself and Anna.I was in a similar situation so I felt obligated to be the big sister she never had.We've been close ever since.

I stood in the sound box and hit the special lighting, Flipped on the mic and plugged my phone into the adapter. I scrolled through all the songs on my list, while in Texas you gotta have a little country music in your blood.Miranda Lambert's Gunpowder and Lead was the first to pop up. "Sing with me Lizzie!" She yelled up at me. I ran down as the intro started playing.

"County road 233, under my feet
Nothin' on this white rock but little ole me
I've got two miles 'til, he makes bail
And if I'm right we're headed straight for hell"

You can only guess who, walked in on us singing, none other than the mayor's little prick, Samuel.

"Well hello ladies." He looked over to our bags."Going somewhere?"

"Hell yea we are." I said to him, Miranda's voice still echoing through the empty auditorium.Anna stood on the stage, she looked ready to pounce at any second."Why are you leaving so soon Anna, we haven't even been on a date since I got back?"

I rolled my eyes but before I had the chance to speak up, Anna's knight in long hair showed up. "Well it could be because she's my girlfriend now..." He put one hand on Sam's shoulder. Sam jump around swinging.Vic ducked under it and clocked Sam's head right off his shoulders.I and Anna stood speechless, then I saw Anna's face light up, she smiled from ear to ear. "Hey!" She said jumping up to hug him.Sam sat up on the ground."My father will hear about this! This whole place will be shut down.

"Yes, of course, your father will shut down the number one money maker in our town."
Anna's aunt walked down the stairs right after her uncle.He lifted Sam to his feet and dragged him out of the place. "Besides I wouldn't mind retiring early!" He yelled at Sam.

"Thanks guys." Anna smiled at them. "Thank you for everything you did for me and mom, I owe you everything, I probably shouldn't even go."

"No, no, no, if you stay now, you will be stuck forever, trust us, we know. We came to see you off and help you load some stuff in the car."They picked up some bags and pillows and we loaded them in Anna's jeep.We hugged her goodbye and began to pile in the car.Her uncle was in the driver's seat, I next to him and the two lovebirds in the back.

"WAAAIIIITTTT!" That could only be one person. Shelly was running up behind us, still dressed in her apron."Bye my babies! And if you ever need any amazing apple pie... come on home and get you some okay?"She kissed both I and Anna on the forehead, then looked Vic in the eyes. "If I ever hear anything about you, hurting my baby girl over here, your dead.... Understand me?" He gulped and nodded. She smiled and kissed his forehead too, and we were off to the airport, for a one way trip to San Diego, California. The home of Los Pierce the Veils.

Vic's P.O.V.

We got off the plane, obviously Anna was exhausted, for no apparent reason, just that she hated heights and was freaking out the whole time.I looked around but there was no sight of my band anywhere, they were supposed to be here to pick us up, instead my eyes locked on a guy with medium black hair, and a blonde with slicked back hair. "KELLIN! JUSTIN!" I heard Anna scream behind me. Lizzie dropped her stuff as well and landed right in their arms."Well thanks for stealing my girlfriend..." I said to Justin as I walked by them.

"WHAT?" Kellin yelled. "He finally asked you out?" He looked towards Anna.

"And you accepted a band boy as your boyfriend." Justin looked shocked.

"It's the hair my friend." I said in my Mexican accent.We all started laughing."We made your boys wait outside, so we could see you first." Kellin said to me.He turned to Anna and swooped her into a hug."I'm so sorry I wasn't there.Fuck the flu! It's been keeping us here in Cali for a month it's ridiculous!"He kept rambling on about how sorry he was, Anna kept trying to cut him off but he wouldn't listen.

Finally she got his attention. "KELLIN!" He stopped mid-sentence."I've been fine. You've got nothing to worry about, I forgive you for not being there.It's over and I want to move on with my life... so please just let it go.

"sorry.." He said finally backing off.

I grabbed her hand and led her back through the airport.We walked outside to find the guys standing around in the entrance waiting for us."VICTOR!!!" Jaime yelled before throwing himself at me. "Hey Lizzie."Tony walked up and grabbed her bags out of her hands. "Thanks Tony." She kissed his cheek and he followed her like a puppy.Mike picked up Anna's luggage and loaded it next to mine in the car.It was my parent's SUV, which meant we were going back to my house.

"Uh Mike..."I said to the now smirking Mike. "Are we really going to our place first?"

"Mom said you had to come home first, 'cause she hadn't seen you in ages... and she also wanted to meet the girl who's stolen you away for three weeks..." We looked over at Anna, she was taking in the scenery of California.

"Hey guys! It's lunch time and I need some of your mom's homemade burritos... like now."Jaime yelled from the other side of the car.

"Uh Vic, we're going to your parents house?" Anna looked at me, a little fear in her voice.

"Trust me chica, they're gonna love you!" Mike patted her on the back (more like pushed her) and she fell forward, right into me."I held her, up so she could get her feet back under her."I'll be there, don't worry."

"Though she has hated every single one of Vic's girlfriends..." Jaime just had to add in.

"Yea but she especially hated the last one... I think she was happy to see her leave..." Even Mike had to add his input.Lizzie had her hand in a fist ready to punch Tony if he said something about my previous love life."Anna trust me, I just have this feeling she's gonna love you."

"Fine." She climbed in next to me in the car

Anna's P.O.V.

The car ride back to their house was a good 45 minutes, Kellin and Justin had wished me luck and went back to the rest of their band.I was so nervous about this, it was ridiculous.He'd already met my mother, and my aunt and uncle, this was just the other half of the deal in a relationship. My palms were sweating and toes were cold. This is so not gonna go very well. Mike parked the car, I hadn't even realized we were in a neighborhood."Anna?" Vic nudged my arm. "Just take my hand, if she starts to be rude to you then, we'll just go back to the apartment me and Mike share for the rest of the night" I sat up straight, wiped my palm off and opened the door to climb out.The first to greet me was his father, with open arms.

"Hola! Wow Victor how did you ever get this?"He said as he took me into a hug."Look Honey! She's beautiful!" She walked up to me arms crossed, her head bobbed up and down. "She's much different than the others Vic."His mother said to him.He made his way in front of me, blocking his mother's gaze. He began to speak but I didn't want him defending me or
anything, this was my battle and I was determined to win.

"Hello Mrs. Fuentes, Your son has taken very good care of me, and I appreciate it so much, please forgive me for keeping him for the past month.My name is Anna, and I'm his girlfriend." I think she was a bit shocked at my own self introduction, then she smiled.I looked around at the boys, who had pure shock on their face.

"SHE LIKES HER!" Jaime said picking Tony up and spinning him around which made everyone laugh."Welcome to the familia." Mike patted me on the back. "Come on in my dear, and I'll show you old pictures of Vic," she lowered her voice. "especially the high school ones." She giggled. Vic just stood there, still speechless."Well are you coming son?" His father turned around to him.

"Yea." He laughed it off and ran to catch up with me.

Dinner was amazing, probably the best Mexican I had ever had, in my life.Afterwards his mother was cleaning up the plates, so I grabbed a few around me and loaded them in the sink."Oh no, honey you don't have to do that, go hang out with the boys out back." She said to me as I started to scrape the scraps of food off the plates."I don't mind I do it every time I visit someone else's house." I continued what I was doing she smiled at me again.
"Not many of the girls he brings home, talk much.They all stand around and mope while the boys have fun.They complain about having to be here, or don't eat. After dinner they usually drag the boys away and I don't see them for a long time. There's something different about you," she put down the dish she had in her hands. "may I get to know you a little better?"

"Of course! Ask me anything you want." I said smiling.

"Any tattoos?"

"Nope, I'm like Vic, I'm ink clean."

"Where are you from?

"Texas."

"Siblings?"

"Not biological" I said thinking about Lizzie.

"Why do you like him so much?

"Well it's because he stayed by my side through the long nights in the hospital, with my mom. And the way he smiled at me, just... I fell in love." After I had said that I blushed, remembering I was talking to his mother.

"You are just perfect!" She said, she stood up and kissed my cheek, "You are a keeper my dear! Now be a good little girlfriend and bring the boys some beers for me, I'll be out soon."

"But I was gonna help with the dish-"

"I'll put my husband on dish duty along with me, you just enjoy yourself." She handed me six beers and pushed me out the back door. She called her husband in and closed the door behind me.I stood there for about a minute before Jaime saw me standing there. "Well if it isn't the one under aged person here holding beers." He said at me giggling.

"That's never stopped her from drinking!" Lizzie said laughing. "Well do we have a mini me?" Mike added while grabbing a beer out of my hand. "No way! I could hold more whiskey than you any day!" I yelled at him while I handed the rest of the beers out."I'll be damned! Is that a
challenge little girl?" Mike yelled standing up.

"If it was, you wouldn't have a chance Mike." Lizzie said, she was sitting in Tony's lap, and all the boys turned to her in shock. "You really think little Anna, can take on Mikey WHISKEY Hands in a drinking match?" Vic finally spoke up. "What? You have no faith in me babe?" I put on a pouting face, and Vic laughed at me. "No it's not that, it's just that I know how much my brother can drink, and that's a lot.

"We can't just take her to a bar... She's 19."Tony piped in. "That still hasn't stopped her..." Lizzie said looking around."Ha... ha... about that, I've got a fake ID..." I said trying to hide my past. They all bursted into laughter. "Everyone has a high school past! Mine was drinking, getting drunk, and trying to forget everything that happed at the time."

"We are so playing War* when we get back to the apartment!" Mike dangled a beer in my face. "even up the playing field, I've already drunken one, so that means you've gotta put down two of these." He went inside to grab another for me.I opened the top and took a swig, I hate beer, I've never been a beer person, but I've also never lost a drinking competition.I drank the whole thing in minor sips and drank the other through the night. We spent the rest of the night telling stories, I learned stuff about the boys that I never wanted to hear.Papa Fuentes was getting tired so we cleared out to head home.

"Bye pops, bye mama!" Vic kissed his mother's cheek and hugged his father. We began to walk away, I turned around and waved at them, they smiled at me, this was going WAY to perfect, his mom liked me, the guys were okay with me and Lizzie working for them, my asshole ex was left home and life was lemonade.

Until we walked into the apartment, "VIC BABY! Where have you been I heard you were flying home finally!"This girl screamed as we walked in the door.Lizzie and I were dumbfounded but the boys had a look of disgust on their face.She wrapped her sleazy arms around Vic's neck and planted a kiss right on his lips.He was so shocked he couldn't move. She was wearing a pair of shorts, they were so far up her ass you'd need pliers to pull them out. If that shirt let anymore out, she could be charged for public indecency. She looked like she had borrowed the boots she was wearing from the strip club down the street.

"Who the hell is this bitch?!?" She said looking at me, still holding hands with Vic.

"That's my line." I said to her face. She looked pissed. "Except I'd like to change the last
word to 'whore'." That made her worse. She started screaming and yelling at Vic for bringing me back. The whole time, Jaime, Mike and Tony were still too shocked to speak.

"Um Anna this is Molly, my ex-" Vic began to talk.

"His Girlfriend." She cut him off.

"That's funny, cause I'm his girlfriend..." I said looking her in her eyes. "Well have you even slept with him?" She said getting in my face. I blushed immediately. "Aw that's cute you haven't even had your first time with him yet, funny cause I've had plenty of long nights with Vic over here, I could understand why he wouldn't wanna fuck a little girl like you, you MUST be a virgin!"

"Wooooaaahh Molly that's enough!" Mike started at her.

"Tell her Vic, she's got nothing on me."She looked over at Vic who stood speechless, I think he was trying to figure out the situation in his head. "What are you doing here Molly?" Jaime asked her, he had a hint of anger in his voice.

"Well, the guy I was dating decided to leave me for another bitch he found at the bar, so I decided to visit my Vic baby to give him a welcome home gift." She winked in is direction, which made everyone in the room cringe.Vic still wasn't moving, still not telling her to go away, it was almost like he was agreeing with her. I couldn't take it, first he let her kiss him and now he's letting her talk shit about me. I turned around and ran back outside I heard her yell after me "Enjoy the dumpster, it's where you belong hun!" I turned and saw Lizzie jump at her and a figure run out the door, but that was it before my tears muffled my vision. I ran outside and I kept running away from it all. He seriously stood there and did nothing. I felt a hand grab my shoulder and then wipe my tears.
