We Can Sing This On The Way Home

Four.

~*Lottie’s POV*~
I can not believe that Tony Perry had just walked out of the bathroom in our hotel room. Actually, I still can’t believe that myself and Rachel are here in Tampa Bay, Florida in one of the most beautiful hotels that I have ever had the pleasure of staying in. Not only that, but we are on a six month tour with All Time Low and Pierce The Veil that starts in a couple of days times; seriously, I just can’t believe mine and Rachel’s luck.

“Lottie?” Rachel calls out as she waves a hand in front of my eyes, trying her hardest to get my full attention. I take in a deep breath, using this moment to gather up my thoughts; I don’t even realise that Tony had already left our hotel room to find his own by this point. “Lottie, hey!”

“What?” I reply in a confused tone, my mind seemingly distracted by the sight that I had just witnessed before me a few seconds previously as I shake my head slightly before turning my attention towards her.

“We have to go down to the lobby to meet Alex.” She explains, as I notice her cheeks blushing a faint pink colour as soon as his name rolls off of her tongue; it is seriously so adorable how she reacts around him.

I know that Rachel likes Alex, she always has done ever since she first picked up their ‘So Wrong, It’s Right’ album in the local music store. It seems as though she likes him just as much as I like Tony, maybe a little bit more. When we were outside talking to him and he was hugging her after he got her name wrong, twice, I really thought that she was going to start crying in his arms.

“Oh, yeah right…okay. We should probably get going then.” I reply with a shrug, shaking my head once more before we start to make our way over towards the door, stopping just long enough to grab our purses from our backpacks and gathering up our card keys before stepping out into the corridor once more.

All the while we were walking towards the elevator, I could not forget the look that was plastered across Tony’s face when he came out of the bathroom and saw us standing there; it was beyond adorable, seriously he is so much better looking in person, no photo can do his true beauty justice. I can’t help but feel sorry for him though, he looked so confused and embarrassed to see us standing there and figuring out that he was in the wrong room. As we stood waiting for the elevators, I decide to push the thought of Tony to the back of my mind for a moment to ask Rachel a question that I was curious to know the answer to.

“So, what’s the deal with you Rach? I know that you’ve always had a serious thing for Alex, and I know that you‘ve been trying to keep your cool around him but, what are you going to do about your feelings for him? We are going to be on the road with him for six months and there’s no doubt in my mind that something is going to happen between you in that time, I just know it.”

Rachel remains quiet, taking a moment to think through her answer, the elevator doors pinging open a few seconds later and we step into them. She breathes out a sigh a few moments later as she turns to face me, her back leaning against the mirrored wall of the elevator as she fiddles with the hem of her shirt.

“Honestly? I have no idea. I mean, you’re right of course; I have always had a thing for Alex, and I probably always will but he’s just met me and like you said, we have a six month tour ahead of us where anything could happen. If I let him know about my feelings now, then it could get incredibly awkward and I definitely don’t want that to happen. Alex is just so perfect in every single way, and then there’s me…I just don‘t want to get my hopes up and assume that something is going to happen at one point or another, that‘s all.” Rachel admits, her voice strong, but I can tell that it’s just a ruse; that there was something more hiding underneath, but I knew better than to pry she would tell me in her own time. “Why do you ask, anyway?”

“I was just curious, that‘s all. When we were standing outside of the hotel and we saw Alex start to walk towards us, you looked like you were about to faint or start screaming out in excitement.” I say in a teasing manner as I chuckle lightly, to which she joins in on the laughter a few seconds later.

“Yeah well, what about you? Back in our room I thought that you were going to launch yourself at Tony as soon as the shock sub-sided.”

“That is totally different.” I say defensively as I cross my arms over my chest.

“It is not.” She argues, mimicking my actions as she crosses her own arms over her chest as she continues to stare me down, a smirk playing at the corner of her mouth.

“It honestly is.”

“It is not.”

“It is!”

“It so is not!”

“You know just as well as I do that this can go on for a while, so I am going to be the smart one here and quit while I‘m ahead.” I sigh exasperatedly as the elevator shudders to a halt and the doors ping open, allowing the light from the lobby to seep into the semi-lit space.

“That is true but you know that I’m right.” She laughs as we both step out into the lobby, where both bands are stood waiting at the plush couches by the window.

At the sound of our approaching footsteps, Alex looks up with a broad smile stretching across his lips as he looks towards Rachel; I may be making a completely wrong assumption here, but I do believe that he has a little thing for her already. I let a light giggle escape through my lips, causing Rachel to shoot me a confused glance as she lifts one of her eyebrows up but she doesn’t say anything; I know that she’ll ask me when we’re back in our hotel room later on tonight, anyway.

“So, ladies…how do you like your hotel room?” Vic Fuentes asks as he takes note of our arrival, his tanned features lighting up as he stands from his seat to give us both a quick hug.

Before my mind can even process the signal to send it down to my mouth which would allow me to reply to Vic‘s question; Rachel as always had managed to beat me to the punch line in an exceptionally excited tone. “It is absolutely amazing! Seriously, I have never been in such a big hotel room before, you could actually fit my whole room plus it‘s furnishing in there at least three times over, it‘s that big!”

As Rachel continues on with her excited rambling about the hotel room; Vic and I exchange a glance with each other before we both break out into an amused laughter, the rest of All Time Low and Pierce The Veil joining in a few seconds later.

“We are all so glad that you both like it. Now…because we are all seemingly dying of hunger over here; where would you lovely ladies like to go for dinner?” Jaime asks us from his seat by the window as he leans back against the cushions, his mouth set in an adorable pout as he awaits for our answer.

“Wherever you guys would like to eat, is fine by us.” I reply with a warm smile as Rachel nods in agreement, finally bringing her excited little rant to a close as Jaime and the others get up and head for the hotel entrance before stepping out into the parking lot where two separate seven seater cars were waiting.

As the others stepped outside, I hang back in the lobby for a second, letting my mind process everything; I thought that it would at least be awkward hanging out with everyone as I don’t even know them properly but, I’m actually surprised at myself with how comfortable I am around them.

“Are you coming?” Tony speaks up as he looks back at me, his hand resting on the door in front of him.

“Yeah, of course. I’m sorry.” I say quietly, shaking my head quickly as I take a couple of steps towards him. Like the gentleman that I believe him to be, Tony holds the door open for me with the shy smile crossing his lips; one that I have grown to love from various photographs and interviews on YouTube. I feel my body brush close against his as I whisper; “Thank you.”

“You’re welcome,” Tony smiles as he places a hand on the small of my back and leads me over to where everyone else was standing, with curious expressions etched on their faces but they don’t say anything, which I’m thankful for as I don’t even think that I know what’s going on.

Things are about to get very interesting from here on out; I can tell.
