Damn it Jaime! Be Quiet, There's Walkers Around.

A moment of Silence

The group froze inside of their new vehicle. They hadn’t heard or seen another living person is so long. It was almost unbelievable.

Instantaneously, they piled out and ran towards the screams, weapons in hand. Daryl was the first there, pulling the RV door opened. He swiftly climbed in, followed by Shelby and Megan.
Inside, they found a girl struggling against a walker and a man looking frantically for his weapon. Daryl wasted no time in putting an arrow in the walker’s head. It fell to the ground and the girl collapsed with it, sobbing uncontrollably.

“Are you okay?” Daryl asked.

“No,” the girl… err, man said in a deep voice.

The other man fell onto a couch, covering his face with his hand and shaking violently. “Damn it. First Tony and now Mike. Goddammit it all.”

“Uhh Jaime,” the girly man whispered. “Look.”

The man pulled his hand away and leaned forward to look at the other man’s arm. On it, there were teeth marks forming a circle. The man pulled away and slammed his fist into the wall. “Fuck!” he cried.

“Oh fuck,” Shelby cussed. “On normal circumstances, I would’ve been thrilled to be meeting Pierce the Veil but…. Holy fuck.”

“Pierce The Veil?” Daryl asked.

“A band.” Megan informed him.

Vic looked up from his dead brother’s body. “You know us?”

“Yeah,” Megan said.

“We sort of love you guys,” Shelby said right after Megan.

Tears fell from Vic’s brown eyes. “It’s funny how I’m meeting fans in this world on my death bed.”

“Don’t say that!” Jaime yelled. “It’s not a deep bite! You might still recover.”

Vic snorted, wiping away the tears from his eyes. “You know that’s not happening Jaime. I’m going to die. But at least you won’t be alone. You can be with our fans here and survive, okay?”

A sob shook through Jaime’s body as tears spilled over. “I can’t let you go too.”

“You’re going to have to!” Vic yelled, also crying.

More tears formed in Jaime’s eyes. Finally, he calmed. “Okay.”

Vic nodded and looked at Daryl, Megan, and Shelby. “Give us a minute alone?”

The group respected their wishes and headed out, leaning against the side of the RV and watching for any stray walkers. Megan and Shelby sat down, both of their hearts heavy.

Daryl sighed. He really hated seeing the girls depressed. “You guys shouldn’t feel too bad. Shit happens. Always has. And in this world, this is to be expected. Besides, you didn’t even know them.”

“You don’t understand,” Megan said quietly.

“It felt like we knew them. Just from watching their interviews and shit,” Shelby replied. “It always felt like we were friends with them.”

Daryl didn’t reply. He figured it’d be best if he gave them their space.

A few minutes later, they heard a muffled gunshot followed by loud crying. And a couple minutes after that, Jaime stepped out of the RV with a bag in his hand and covered in blood.

He looked at his new companions with swollen eyes. “We should go.”

Megan and Shelby got up and led the way back to the hummer. Megan sat in the front with Daryl and Jaime and Shelby took the back. Daryl started the engine and they drove away in silence.
