Jaime awoke in the middle of the night. Mike and Vic clearly seen in their bunks, having coming back and crashing after Jaime and Tony drifted off. Tony was still lying in Jaime’s lap. He had turned over sometime, pressing his face lightly against Jaime’s stomach. One of Tony’s arms was wrapped around Jaime’s waist and the other was holding Jaime’s own arm to his chest.

Is he always so clingy when he sleeps? Jaime wondered.

Jaime brushed some hair out of Tony’s face. He looked so peaceful and genuinely happy for once. It was actually really adorable, Jaime mused. He supposed he didn’t mind the clinging. It actually felt pretty nice.

Of course, Jaime thought this could prove his suspicions about Tony liking him. Why else would he be holding onto him so tight?

Jaime then smacked himself in his forehead. Was he really serious about this? He and Tony had been friends for years. If Tony really were attracted to him, he would’ve found out a while ago. Besides, Tony only has ever dated girls, showing absolutely zero interest in men. There wasn’t any way Tony wanted a piece of Jaime. Jaime was just acting stupid because of what happened that night when they were drunk.

Oddly enough, Jaime felt really depressed at the thought that Tony wasn’t attracted to him in that way. Did he want the other guy to actually want him like that? He did, Jaime realized. Then again, he kind of wanted everyone to be attracted to him. It sucked when someone didn’t want him.

“Jaime,” Tony muttered in his sleep, tightening his clutch around Jaime’s arm.

Jaime stared at Tony in amazement for a second. Was he really dreaming about him? The corners of Jaime’s lips turned up into a small smile and his gaze softened as he looked at Tony. His hand found its way to Tony’s head to tangle itself in his mess of hair. “Yeah Tony?” Jaime whispered.

Jaime could’ve sworn that Tony smiled for a second. But then he returned to normal. Jaime shook it off as a part of his imagination. He leaned back and closed his eyes to sleep.

But he remained wide awake. Tony wasn’t even doing anything but he was keeping him awake. It might’ve been because his body felt stiff from sleeping in a sitting position from holding Tony. Maybe it was because of Tony’s breath tickling his stomach. Maybe it was because the way Tony unconsciously said Jaime’s name. Jaime couldn’t stop thinking about it.

Jaime shook his head. He was putting too much thought into this. He was sure it’d all make sense in the morning after he slept. Jaime decided that in order to do that, he’d have to go to his body and actually sleep.

Jaime tried to gently move Tony’s head off of him. Tony only mumbled something and buried his face into Jaime’s stomach. Every time Jaime tried to leave, Tony only tightened his grip around the man.

Jaime slumped back in defeat. He didn’t want to wake Tony but he really wanted to actually lie down to sleep. Tony was making that impossible. He supposed the only way to do that would be to somehow lie on the couch with Tony.

“If you aren’t letting me go,” Jaime said, gently pushing Tony over a little for room, “you can at least cooperate with me.”

After a few minutes of maneuvering, Jaime somehow successfully lied down with Tony on top of him. He stole the pillow from under Tony and put it under his own head, letting Tony rest on his lower stomach.

Jaime thought about how much more comfortable this was than his previous position. Seeing as how Tony was quietly snoring, he also was pretty comfy. Jaime smiled at his accomplishment and soon, sleep took him under once again.
