Doesn't Really Matter

Six - A Hanging Out

“Tony,” Jaime called. “The people from the internet are here for an interview!”

Tony groaned from his spot on the couch. “I don’t want to go. I did the Bryan Stars one a couple weeks ago.”

Jaime grabbed a frozen ice pack from the freezer, wrapped it in a rag, and handed it Tony. Tony tossed his melted one back at Jaime and gladly put the cold one on the back of his head.

Jaime sat next to his friend and said, “You know you can’t keep skipping out on these, bud.”

“I know,” Tony said. “But I honestly don’t feel like moving. My head hurts really bad and everything spins when I move.”

“Well, you shouldn’t have fallen on stage,” Jaime said.

“Shut up,” Tony said, punching Jaime’s arm. “You fall all of the time.”

“Yeah,” Jaime agreed. “But I don’t land on my head and almost give myself a concussion.”

“It wasn’t like I was trying to fall. That cord just came out of nowhere.” Tony defended himself.

“Yeah sure,” Jaime laughed. “It had nothing to do with that girl flashing us”

“Man, that girl didn’t bother me. I just didn’t see the cord.”

“Mhmmm,” Jaime replied sarcastically. But he looked at Tony and thought back to that fight they had last week. He wondered if maybe that girl didn’t distract him because he was already interested in someone else…

If that was the case, Jaime had to know. He hasn’t gotten any concrete evidence that Tony was into him but that feeling that he was was still nagging at him.

Jaime stood up. “You know what,” He said to Tony, “I’ll go talk to Vic and Mike. They can do the interview. I’ll stay with you and take of my little Turtle.”

Tony smiled and watched as Jaime went out the door. He was looking forward to spending the day with him. They always had a lot of fun. Jaime was good at forcing Tony into a fun mood.

But then Tony’s mind wandered back to what Jaime said. That there was a girl who flashed him. Tony didn’t even notice. He was watching Jaime do some spinning trick with his bass when he fell. Jaime was catching his attention a lot more lately.

Tony mentally slapped himself. It was just a cool trick, that’s all. He had never seen it before and that’s why he wasn’t focusing on his instrument and footing. That was the only reason.

Jaime came back then. He ran through the bus, banging in the walls and tables and things as he did so. Finally, he jumped on the couch, half of him landing on Tony. Tony half laughed and half complained as he pushed Jaime off. Jaime smiled at Tony and sat next to the injured man.

Jaime made sure to press himself against Tony. He looked down at their touching thighs and then to Tony’s face. Tony didn’t appear to be affected. Jaime wasn’t distracting him at all from the cartoon Star Wars movie. He wore his normal typical Tony expression that said that he wasn’t interested in much of anything, even though his face usually lit up when Star Wars was on. Jaime sighed and focused on the TV.
