Doesn't Really Matter

Thirty Four - Feel

Tony sat at the edge of his bed, staring blankly at the television in front of him that displayed some horror movie he'd seen a thousand times. His phone buzzed then for what could've been the twentieth time that day, and he knew without looking at the caller ID that it was Jaime, the Jaime who broke his heart barely even twenty-four hours ago. Looking at his phone, he saw that this time it was Vic, and he pressed the red button to ignore that call. Vic was the last person he wanted to talk to.

Just then, he heard the front door open and close, and he heard a familiar voice call his name. "Tony? Baby? I know you're in here,"

Tony cursed under his breath. How could he have forgotten the fact that Jaime had a key to his house? He'd had it even before they were together as a couple; when they were just bandmates and best friends. Part of him actually did want Jaime to be there, though. He wanted them to be how they were two days ago, before last night happened. He wanted to forget, but he didn't forgive betrayal very easily, and he couldn't stop thinking about it.

He was so deep into his thoughts, in fact, that he didn't know that Jaime was in the room until he sat down on the bed next to him. "Baby," he began, "please talk to me." Jaime put his hand on his boyfriend's knee, but Tony stood up and backed away.

"Don't. Don't touch me, Jaime."

"Tony, I'm so sorry. Please, I'm so sorry." Tony could see the tears building up in his eyes, and a few of his own danced at the edges of his lower eyelids.

"Do you have feelings for him?"

"What?"

Tony thought the question was as clear and straightforward as could be, but he repeated himself anyway. "Do you have feelings for him?"

"Why would you think that?" Jaime looked shocked at the question he was being asked, but Tony furrowed his eyebrows and thought, is it really not obvious?

"Well, I don't know, maybe because you had your tongue down his throat yesterday? And maybe because you were touching him? God, you were, like really touching him." He shuddered, the sight still very clear in his mind.

"Tony." Jaime stood, and Tony took a step back. "Tony," he repeated, moving closer to him. Jaime placed his hands over Tony's biceps and rubbed them gently with the palms of his hands. "You are the only man I have ever cared for in this way, and I know that you're the only man I will ever care for in this way. I don't know what happened last night that made me act so stupidly, and I know that I fuck things up sometimes. Just tell me I didn't fuck this up, tell me I didn't, please." Jaime looked up at him with pleading eyes, and Tony looked right back at him with the same look in his own eyes.

"I-I-I don't know what to say," Tony muttered, blinking hard.

"Tell me how you feel."

Tony wrapped his arms around Jaime's waist and pulled him closer before planting a kiss on his lips. "I feel like I love you."

Notes

Short and cliche and kinda cute. Kinda. I wanted TrainStation to tell me what she thinks before I did anything drastic so, here ya go!
