Doesn't Really Matter

Thirteen - Speaking of the Devil

“Thank you San Diego!” Vic yelled and the crowd screamed. Jaime then jumped in front and raised his hands up, making the crowd even louder. But that didn’t satisfy the bassist. He cupped his hand around his ear like he couldn’t hear them and they went wild.

Tony smiled to himself. Jaime was so energetic. He could easily steal the show from Vic. Hell, he could probably do a better job at being the lead singer of Pierce The Veil. He was really outgoing and great at getting the crowd going. Tony even thought he had a better voice than Vic. Not to mention that he was more than good looking enough to front a band.

The band finally got off the stage. Vic, Mike, and Jaime went off to interact with people while Tony just grabbed a bottle of water and sat on a random couch by himself. He buried his face into his shoulder, inhaling his shirt. Although he mostly smelled his own sweat, there still was a hint of Jaime.

Speaking of the Devil.

Jaime plopped himself next to Tony and threw an arm around Tony’s shoulders. When Tony gave him a questioning look, Jaime just smiled.

“What do you want?” Tony asked.

“What’s wrong with wanting to sit next to my friend?” Jaime asked. “Seriously Tony, I knew your people skills were bad but this is a new low.”

“Nothing,” Tony replied. “It’s just the look you gave me.”

“What look?” Jaime asked.

“Like you’re hiding something,” Tony said. “Like you’re trying not to get caught.”

Jaime rolled his eyes. “You’re just being paranoid because of this morning.”

“That was seriously a dick move,” Tony said, glaring at Jaime again.

Jaime cracked a smile. “But it was funny.”

“To you maybe,” Tony mumbled.

“Awh, is little Tony Turtle upset?” Jaime asked, talking to Tony like how he’d talk to a baby.

“You couldn’t tell?” Tony’s voice was dripping in sarcasm.

“I’m sowwy,” Jaime replied with his baby talk voice again. He then kissed Tony’s cheek. “Pwease don’t be mad wif me.”

When Tony didn’t reply, Jaime kissed him again. “Pretty pretty pretty please?”

Tony just grumbled. Jaime smirked and kissed his cheek once again. “You know you can’t stay mad at me.”

“I can try,” Tony retorted.

“I’d like to see that,” Jaime said, staring into Tony’s eyes with a challenge.

“Hey guys!” Vic yelled, running towards them.

Both Jaime and Tony looked his way. “Yeah?” They asked in unison.

“Papa Fuentes wants everyone to come over for dinner,” Vic informed him.

“Oh, sounds fun,” Jaime said with a grin.

“Yeah,” Tony agreed. “We’ll definitely be there.”

“Cool,” Vic said before darting off to talk to more people.

Jaime smiled at Tony and kissed his cheek one last time before getting up and following Vic.

Tony sat there looking at Jaime go, gently touching the spot where Jaime’s lips had been. What the hell has gotten into him?
