SKYE'S POV

Vic never called me that night, and that resulted in me lying wide awake the whole night. My mind was whirling right up until I spotted him walking towards us at school the next day.

'Dude,' gasped Kellin. 'What happened to you?'

'Nothing,' he sighed, 'I was walking late and some drunk guy just... yeah.'

'He beat you up pretty bad for some random drunk guy, did you break anything?'

'My Mum took me to hospital in the night because I couldn't breathe, and yeah, I broke a couple of things. It's no big deal though.'

'Shit,' said Jaime under his breathe. 'What?'

'Uh, just two ribs, fractured my left pinkie and sprained my wrist.

I couldn't speak. You caused this. This is your fault. You're a selfish little bitch, Skye. My eyes met his and I pursed my lips together. 'I've got to go,' I mumbled stepping back and rushing away form the group. It's all your fault. You could have prevented this.

'Skye, wait!' Shouted Vic. I didn't want to crumble, I didn't want to seem weak - after all, I wasn't the one who was beaten. I turned round and held back the tears as Vic came towards me.

'I'm sorry,' I breathed out, don't cry. 'This is all my fault,' I added, don't cry.

'It's not,' he said, taking hold of my hand. Doesn't he understand that if Mike notices he's going to get his ass kicked again? What is with this boy? 'No matter what I do, he'll find some reason to beat the shit out of me. You're the best reason ever and I'd take a hundred kicks to the stomach to spend ten minutes with you.'

'Vic, look at you though,' I sighed, caressing my hand across his burst lip - the same lip I'd been loving so dearly not so long ago.

'I don't care,' he said, stepping forward and eliminating the small amount of space between our bodies. He took hold of my hips with both hands and kissed me gently. I ran my hands up his body before wrapping my arms around his neck.

'I don't get you,' I laughed, pulling away. He look at me in confusion. 'I'm not worth it,' I said, gesturing to his cut fists.

'Yes you are,' he said softly, pulling me back in and slamming our bodies together as our lips did so too. Pulling away, I bit my lip as I looked over his shoulder at the guys. 'Are they watching us?'

'All three of them,' I said, sticking my tongue out as Jaime made fun. 'Bunch of idiots,' I giggled, kissing his tender lips once again. The bell then rang, interrupting our kiss and beginning the school day.

VIC'S POV

Walking out to the football pitch with Jaime, I tried to calm myself as I thought about this morning. He hadn't said a word about it, but that didn't mean it wasn't on my mind. I could feel myself falling for Skye - she was perfect.

Taking a football from the basket, me and Jaime walked over and joined Austin who was kicking the ball up in the air over and over again.

'Oh, it's loverboy!' Laughed Austin, grabbing the ball and putting it under his arm. 'So she is your girlfriend?'

'No,' I said.

'Are you going to ask her?' said Jaime, looking a bit lost.

'It's complicated,' I replied.

'You mean you're scared of rejection,' corrected Austin. I nodded, he knew me too well.

'God, Vic! Get your head out your ass! That girl is hot as fuck and you're not going to take a chance and ask her out? I know for a fucking fact she'll say yes!' Said Jaime, waving his arms around.

'You don't know that,' I said, and he didn't. This whole ordeal could have put her right off me. She kissed me, but it could have been sympathetic. In fact, I'm certain it was sympathetic.

'Oh really? Because she admitted to liking you.'

'What?'

'She admitted it to me the other day, Vic. Get some balls and ask her out, for god sake!'

A small smile came across my face. Bouncing the ball, I looked back up at the guys as I bit my lip.

'There she is,' said Kellin, nudging me. I looked ahead to see Skye walking slowly towards the bus. She was fiddling with her bag strap - constantly turning her head whilst strolling as if she was looking for somebody.

'It looks like she's waiting for someone,' I said.

'Yeah,' said Kellin as if I was stupid, 'the boy who kissed her this morning.'

'Okay, okay. I'm going.'

Walk away form the comfort of my best friend's side, I approached Skye. Wrapping one arm around her waist, she jumped a little as I did so.

'Hey,' she said, wrapping her arms around my neck.

'How's your day been?' I asked, lacing our fingers together as we approached the bus.

'It's been good. I, um, was wondering if you'd like to do something after school? I hate the thought of you even being in the same house as your brother.'

'That sounds nice,' I smiled, squeezing her hand.

Getting on the bus, we sat down next to each other. I turned to Skye and watched as her eyes glanced around the bus. Shit, she's beautiful. Realising that a bunch of girls were talking about her as the pointed and giggled, I leaned over and kissed her cheek gently. She blushed, either oblivious or not caring about the girls, and turned to face me. Her pale skin was complimented perfectly by her wavy brown hair and her blue eyes were flawless. She had a long eyelashes that made my heart race as the batted. Her gaze was soft, you could look into her eyes all day and not even notice the hours go by - she was completely captivating.

'Be my girlfriend?' I whispered into her ear. 'Please?' She whipped her head round and stared right at me, I melted in her eyes. 'Please,' I mouthed.

She nodded. 'Yes,' she whispered in response, giving me a quick peck on the lips.
