Did You Call Me Last Night Just Cus' You Couldn't Get Laid?

Chapter Eight

When I awoke the next morning, the trailer was empty. There was no trace of Mike except for the faint smell of cigarette smoke and the drum kit which I had fell asleep on. I lifted my head and stretched myself out, bending my back slightly and wondering how I'd managed to fall asleep in such an uncomfortable position.

I allowed my thoughts to wonder back to the night before, the Sleeping with Sirens party and how drunk I was, setting off fireworks with Vic, Jaime and Louis, Mike shouting at me and calling me a crazy bitch.

But then I thought about the drums and the weed, how I'd ventured out here and found Mike looking sad, tired and broken. How he'd tried teaching me the drums before passing out on the floor. I thought we'd had a moment, how could he just leave me here alone?

I pulled my phone out of my pocket to find that it was dead.

"Fucking iphone batterys are shit..." I muttered to myself, shoving the phone back into my pocket before standing up and leaving the trailer.

It was light now, but there still wasn't anyone around, so I headed back to my bus, hoping that it was still fairly early in the morning. I unlocked the door and clambered up the stairs, surprised to find the bus empty. As I walked past the kitchen area of the bus I took a glance at the microwave and discovered it was 7pm, realising I'd slept through the entire day. Cursing to myself I began to hurry, running over to my bunk to grab some clothes.

I plugged my phone into charge, turning it on as soon as it would allow me too. I had tons of missed calls from Louis and even a few from Cameron and Ollie.

"Fuck..." I muttered to myself, annoyed that I'd let this happen. I pulled on my skinny jeans and a tank top before throwing my hair back into a pony tail, I didn't have time for makeup.

While I ran out of the bus I took the opportunity to ring Louis, who answered on the first ring.

"Where the fuck are you?" He began to ramble. "I've been looking for you all fucking day, the merch tables fucking crazy tonight and you weren't even here to set up, we've been selling so much and its only been me, no help or nothing. Fuck Laska, you've got a shit load of explaining to do."

"I'll explain later, it's a long story, I'm on my way." I replied before hanging up the phone and running back to the venue. The bands were playing this venue twice, due to massive demand in Vegas.

"Where the fuck have you been Laska?" Louis shouted at me from the table as I approached, he sounded pretty pissed off.

"It's a long story, lets just get this line down and I'll explain." I told him sighing, and he nodded back at me. I put on a fake smile and started serving the fans.

"Hey, you're friends with Austin aren't you? He uploaded a picture with you on instagram," a shortish girl with blonde scene hair and ear stretchers asked me, beaming ear to ear.

"Yeah I am, we've been friends since high school," I responded, it was kind of nice to be recognized by a fan.

"Aw wow that's so cool, you must work so hard touring and selling merch all the time, anyways can I have the purple top?"

"Yeah but its fun and you get to be with your best friends everyday," I told her, nudging Louis, "And sure you can kiddo, what size?"
]
"Um, extra small please, and do you think you could give this note to Austin? Actually any of the boys, Tino, Alan, Phil, Aaron. I really don't mind, like if you can, its really personal and um, they kind of saved my life..." she trailed off, realising she was rambling slightly.

"Sure I will kid," I said, taking the note and giving her a hug. She felt tiny, nothing but skin and bones, no wonder she needed an extra small. It always hurt me to see fans that were so broken.

"Hey, kid wait!" I shouted at her as she walked away. I quickly scribbled my number on the back of one of the band stickers. "This is my number," I said, handing it over to her, "If you ever fell broken or alone, drop me a text okay? I can't promise I'll reply straight away but I'll definitely try to help, and I'll 100% make sure one of the lads gets that letter." She beamed at me again.

"Thank you so much, I really appreciate it!" She told me, her whole face lighting up as she
ran to tell her friends.

When the night was over me and Louis walked back to our bus together. I began to explain everything that had happened, and why I was so late to the table. It was dark, but I couldn't help but notice there was a bus missing. The space next to the Sleeping With Sirens bus was empty, nothing but a few cigarette butts on the floor. And then it occurred to me, Pierce the Veil were only here to get their video down, and they'd done that. Their Vegas gig wasn't at this venue, they'd left without even saying goodbye.

I felt hurt and misled at the thought of it, I ran back to my bus, unsure of what to think or do next.
