What If I'm the Secret? (Fuenciado)

Chapter 4

**JAIME’S POV**

“Well, that was easier than I thought,” I heard Vic mumble under his breath after Kellin had dramatically slammed the bus door.
“Aren’t you gonna go after him?” I suggested lightly in my raspy, morning voice. Vic turned to see I was awake. He looked from me back to the door, scratching his head indecisively. He hesitated before answering.
“Nahh. Yeah, I’m in the wrong, but like I said last night, things were ending anyway. Might as well let it happen.”
Oh yeah, last night. I don’t remember anything about last night. What even happened? All I can dig up is I left the bus to the fancy restaurant after having a few drinks. Ugh, but I do know that my head wasn’t too happy with me. The throbbing kept me from following Vic to the sink. I observed his lanky figure admirably before laying back down.
“So what exactly happened last night?”
“You really don’t remember?” the Mexican retorted.
“Not a thing.”
“Hmm, let’s see. I can’t exactly remember,” he said in a dramatically sarcastic manner. “Oh, you announced in front of the whole restaurant that Kellin and I were dating, you confessed your feelings for me while puking, you begged me to cuddle with you, then Kellin came in and saw, then dumped me. The end~.” He never looked away from the dishes he was putting away.
There’s no way he’s telling the truth. I would never confess my feelings for him. Not even on my death bed. And Kellin didn’t dump Vic because of my actions…did he? I just hoped Vic was messing with me again.
“Dude, what feelings?” I lied while propping my head on my head, playing it cool. That was enough to bring Vic’s attention back to me.
“Don’t lie, Jaime,” He came over beside the bed, sat down, lifted my chin, and brought his face close to mine. I instantly tensed up. “I’ve always seen it, and last night just confirmed it. I see the way you look at me when I sing during rehearsals, and how you admire my body, much like when you undressed me the other night.” I could feel his breath hit my face when he spoke. He looked between my eyes and lips, and I started to blush massively.
“You…r-remember that?” I stuttered, panicking. What if he thinks I’m weird?
“Of course, I was there, wasn’t I?” he chuckled before getting up and returning his attention to the clean dishes.
“Well…What do you think?” I said nervously, half wanting to know the answer, half not.
He laughed. Why did he laugh? Was it funny? Does he think I’m pathetic? Did he not take me seriously?
“Well, I’m gonna be honest,” he smirked devilishly. “I think it’s really cute how you have a crush on me. I can’t say I feel the same way,” he slowly lingered toward me. “but I can say now that I’m looking at you like that, you’ve got potential.” He winked, and I felt a chill. “But Jaime, I didn’t know you liked guys. Why didn’t you tell us?” I shrugged and blushed, avoiding eye contact.
“I didn’t know what you guys would think of me, I guess. And anyways, it doesn’t really matter. I don’t really like guys, I just like you.” I looked up and met eyes with him, trying to flash a semi-confident smirk. He grinned in response, walked over to me again sitting on the bed next to me, and wrapped his arms around me, embracing me close. I could smell his expensive cologne I’ve come to love, and found very comforting. He hands wandered up and down my spine, rubbing me slowly, but skillfully. I returned a favor, wrapping my arms around his neck. I lightly scrapped my nails against the back of his neck teasingly. I can’t believe this was even happening. Not that hugging was that big of a deal. But this wasn’t an ordinary hug. This obviously held more meaning, I felt it.
I snapped out of my blissful daze as he pulled away, smiling. I could feel myself blushing at the goose bumps down my arms.
“Hey,” he pulled my chin up with his thumb. “Relax.” He smiled contently before heading towards the door. “Rehearsal is soon. Don’t forget we have a show tonight. I’m going to try to find Kellin, and I’ll meet you at practice. Later!” he informed me cheerfully. Is he teasing me now? Well, at least he didn’t reject me completely. Maybe I should just drop it and not get my hopes up. Besides, if we went out, he’d probably want to keep it a secret, like him and Kellin, which isn’t in my interest.
I shook myself out of my thoughts. I stood up, and the headache came rushing back to me, causing me to fall back on my bed. Ughh. Why. I stood up again made my way towards the bathroom, reaching for some head ache relief pills. I then showered, slipped on a white V-neck, dark denim skinny jeans, and teased my hair back. After all of that, my head was still banging. I grabbed some frozen peas we had laying around in our mini freezer and carried them with me to the couch. I laid on the couch with my make shift ice pack and played Fallout again until practice began, where I assumed Tony and Mike had gone to help with. This should keep my mind off of things.

**VIC’S POV**

I closed the bus door behind me. I hope I didn’t lead Jaime on too much. I meant to give him hope, but not promise myself to him. Besides, I still have Kellin to deal with. The Sleeping with Sirens bus was conveniently parked right behind ours. I knocked on bus door.
“Hello? Kellin?” I hollered. The door opened to a crying Kellin. I sighed mentally knowing I’d have some things to fix. “Lemme in?” I asked gently. He just wiped the tears off his face, holding back sobs as he fell back on the couch where I assume he had been before. I let myself in and followed him.
“Kellin, tell me how you’re feeling. What exactly is wrong?” I asked, putting a consoling hand on his thigh after sitting beside the crying boy. He pushed it away and I frowned.
“You slept with a-another man! Why don’t you g-get that’s wrong?! And on top of that, he’s in y-your band!” All hell broke loose as he lost control of his sobs.
“If you’d Lemme explain again, it was just like the night before. He was drunk, and-“
“And you s-slept with Jaime!” he yelled defensively.
“No, he was just lonely. Please Kellin, you’re being irrational. Jaime and I are just friends.” I said with a reassuring tone, though even I didn’t believe me.
“Fine, I forgive you,” he sniffed, before placing a kiss on my cheek. I hesitated. I still don’t want to be with Kellin, though. He can be so dramatic and I hate keeping us a secret. Keeping it a secret was all his idea because he didn’t want to lose his female fan base. I honestly have no fucks to give on the subject. If my fans were loyal, they’d love me gay or straight. But it doesn’t matter. I’m ending this now.
“Kells,” I held his hand in mine. I looked eyes with him. Wow. This is going to be hard with those big green eyes eagerly staring back. “I think we should split up.” Tears filled his eyes again.
“I k-know,” he sniffed. He knows?
“You know?” I asked, surprised.
“Yeah, now that w-we aren’t a secret,” he sobbed into his hand. Oh. That. Well, I guess that’s kind of relieving. Selfish, but relieving. At least I know where I stand. “I’m going to m-miss you Vic,” he pulled himself together to speak. I didn’t know how to respond. “I’m sorry, but I have to go. I have band practice. We’re cool though, right?” I asked. He nodded and put on a fake smile. “Good.”I smiled back, leaving the bus. I guess that wasn’t so bad.
I went back to our van to see if Jaime happened to be there still. Sure enough, there he was, lying across the couch playing video games with a pea pack to his head. His face lit up when I walked back in.
“Hey! Did you run into Kellin? What’d you say? What’s the situation look like?” he said, almost excitedly. He seemed better, that’s good. I chuckled at his enthusiasm before resting an elbow on his shoulder.
“We’re over, but we’re still cool. He wanted to split up because he thought he’d lose his fan base if his fans found out he was gay,” I said. I guess I was kind of disappointed. “Things were headed this direction, anyways. But we should head to practice now, before we’re late.”
“Oh, right.” I watched him as he saved his game and folded the TV away. We marched down the van’s steps and locked it, walking toward the building where practice was being held. I was feeling confident now that I’m a single man, so I looked down and laced my fingers with his. I looked up to see a flushed face and goofy grin. Yeah, I could probably fall for this boy. But not now. Maybe later. Our moment ended when my phone fell out of my pocket since my jeans were so tight.
“Oops,” I said, turning around to grab it. I put it in my pocket and happened to look up. Kellin was giving me the death glare from the window of his van. Shit. I knew we weren’t cool now, but I didn’t drop hands with Jaime. I just waved and turned back in the direction of the building.
“Who did you just wave at?” Jaime asked, looking back at nothing specific. I tried to wander from the subject. “Your mom, kid,” I retorted, gripping his hand tighter and laughing. He laughed along with me, instead of hit me or get upset, like Kellin would have. I could get used to this.
I rest my head on his shoulder as we continued walking. Me gusta.
