What If I'm the Secret? (Fuenciado)

Chapter 2

**JAIME’S POV**

I woke up to the intense throbbing in my head. Ow, was I really that buzzed? Maybe it kicked in after I fell asleep. I propped my head on my hand and realized what had taken place the night before. I turned to see an empty bed behind me. Where’d Vic go? Did he remember what happened? Probably not. I need to stop with this whole wishful thinking.
I sat up, ignoring my aching head and neck. Everyone else was gone too. Huh. I took a shower in our tiny little stall we had in the bus before slipping on a black Obey shirt, a pair of tan skinny jeans, and teasing back my hair.
I stepped out of the van to find out we were parked alongside a small, secluded boardwalk. There were venders and small stores lined up on the wharf over the sea. From here, I could at least see Mike, Tony, Jesse, and Gabe playing volleyball. Guess that means the Sleeping with Sirens van tagged along with us last night. I slowly made my way over to them, loving the warm sand between my toes.
“Hey, good morning, sleeping beauty,” Mike chanted. Tony chuckled at his witty comment before getting hit on the head with the volleyball. Gabe and Jesse laughed, high fiving and pointing. Tony just laughed along with them.
“How’d you sleep? You know, its like after noon, right?” Tony left the court to avoid getting hit again and stood next to me on the side lines.
“I slept great!” I chuckled. “You haven’t happened to see Vic, have you?”
“Nahh, man.” He cracked his knuckles.
“Alright, I’m gonna seek out the others, catch ya later!” I started skipping towards to boardwalk.
When I reached the wooden bridge, the smell of French fries hit me. Noticing the cute little food stand, I ordered some French fries and continued my stroll. I admired the shops and strange attractions. But one store caught my eye. Evangeline’s. I shrugged and walked in. Whoa. The walls were stocked full of costumes and witty t-shirts. In glass display cases were custom plugs, piercing barbells, and captive rings. Prank props and other pointless gadgets filled the shelves. When making my way over to the Star Wars figurines, I saw a cool shirt. I had a zombie pin up girl on it. Had to have it. I grabbed the shirt in a few sizes to make sure one fit.
I turned to the dressing room. I couldn’t tell if anyone was there so I pushed the curtain open.
Did my eyes deceive me? I was over shocked to find Kellin and Vic kissing and fondling each other’s bodies.
“Jai-“ Vic began, his voice shaking. Most likely not because he just got caught with his lover.
I swiftly closed the curtain, put the shirts back, and rushed out of the store. I gotta get outta here. I went around to the back of store and leaned against the wooden building. My knees went weak as I let my back slide down the wall. I just sat there. I felt that’s all I could do. My stomach was flipping a bitch and I couldn’t see past the tears in my eyes. I felt so heart broken. I guess it isn’t his fault, but still. Why Kellin? Why not me? Still, why didn’t I see this coming? I mean, they were always friendly. Maybe too friendly, and no one saw it. At least I didn’t. I still felt as though he ripped my heart out and pissed on it. I snapped out of my daze when I heard the boys calling my name.
“Jaime! Where are you? Please! Let’s Talk!” I could hear panic in his voice. I didn’t move. But I did have to leave before he found me. What if he did find me? What would he say? What would I say?
I almost collapsed again from my weak knees which seem to only be getting worse, but I helped myself up. I saw him. The tears almost dropped. Keep it together. I left the back of the building and started walking back towards the others. I hope he doesn’t notice me. Maybe he won’t turn around and see m-
“Jaime!” Shit. I heard his vans running toward me against the hollow wharf. I picked up my pace and put my hands in my pockets, pretending I didn’t hear him.
“Jaime, listen,” Vic placed a hand on my shoulder. I shrugged it off and kept walking, yet I could still hear him following.
“Jaime, please stop and listen!” he was now shouting. I paused. If I’m gonna be upset, might as well have a reason. “Please, don’t tell anyone-“
“What happened?? Are you guys going out or something? Why haven’t you told anyone? How long has this been going on??” My mouth wouldn’t stop.
“Well, Kellin and I have been going out for a few months. We decided not to tell anyone because we didn’t want to cause a big scene. It’s not really a big deal. But please, don’t tell anyone. We want to keep it private. Please..” he pleaded. I just rolled my eyes. “Why does this upset you?”

“Because I thought we were closer than that! You’re supposed to tell me everything!” I lied. I could feel the tears coming again. I turned back again and kept heading towards the bus. This time, I didn’t hear him follow.

“Cheers!” Everyone chanted. I put on a fake smile. Threw my wine back a bit more eagerly than normal. We’re at a restaurant for dinner. I don’t remember the name, something fancy. Partly because I secretly started drinking in the bus before coming, knowing I’d probably need it to get through the night. I was in the middle of the long table and Vic was directly across from me. I had tried to sit somewhere else, but all the other seats were taken. Kellin wasn’t here. I don’t know why, but I also don’t care.
Everyone was sitting around laughing and conversing. Jack was telling me all about his shenanigans, but I wasn’t really listening. I just kind of smiled and giggled here and there. I could feel myself becoming more intoxicated as he kept talking. Eventually I stopped acting like I cared.
“Hey, sorry guys! I was finishing up an interview,” Kellin greeted everyone with a warm smile. He, of course, gave Vic a hug before hugging everyone else, to disguise his loving action toward the Mexican. I glared at him with rotten eyes, pouring myself a glass of wine. Good thing he didn’t catch my stare. Kellin took a seat next to his secret lover.
All throughout dinner, I watched them get friendly and laugh together. I couldn’t take it.
“Jaime,” Tony almost whispered. “That’s your fifth glass of wine. Maybe you should slow down.”
“Slow down? I’m just getting started!” I retorted louder, my words obviously starting to slur. “Margaritas on me!” Everyone rejoiced and cheered. Tony just looked at me again before going back to his plate.
Just as I looked from Tony, Kellin caught my attention as I saw him sneak a hand under the table to rub Vic’s inner thigh. Vic smiled lustfully before saying something sassy, I’m sure, back. I can’t take anymore. I stood up and hit my wine glass with a fork, accidently breaking the nice glass.
“Oops,” I laughed, and so did everyone else. Thank god. “W-Well, I have an announcement! Let’s toast to Victor and K-Kellin!” They looked at each other with wide eyes. Everyone searched each other’s faces, seeing if they missed something. “Congratulations on going out!” My cheery, slurred words and grin quickly turned to one with unshed tears. “You guys fucking s-suck.” I grabbed my jacket and ran out of the restaurant, almost falling a few times. Fuck
