Chapter Four
The next morning everyone was sat around the kitchen table at Stan’s house. Erica wasn’t downstairs yet. It was 9am and she really wasn’t a morning person. Each of the boys had a cup of coffee and some were eating toast when they heard a loud thud, followed by Erica shouting a string of profanities. Moments later Erica had joined the boys in the kitchen and was complaining about how she had fallen out of Stan’s bed.. They all laughed. Erica was not amused.
“Stan since it was your bed that I fell out of I think it’s only fair you make me a morning Black Jack” She said while sitting on the kitchen side next to the fridge.
“Make it yourself you lazy bitch” Retorted Stan. Erica huffed and jumped off the side reaching for a mug from the cupboard above her head.
“What’s a ‘morning black jack’” Asked Vic
“Erica likes booze so much that she has it with her morning coffee” Stan replied while pointing in Erica’s direction. She had just filled her mug with coffee and was now pouring in 2 shots of Jack Daniels.
“What, it wakes me up” She said looking at the boys as if it was obvious.
They all just chuckled and carried on with breakfast.
“So what time do you guys want to go back because I need to go home and get back in to bed” She joked.
“Whenever is good.” Jaime responded cheerily.“Okay, hurry up with breakfast then” She said. This didn’t bother Stan because Erica always left early in the mornings. He knew how uncomfortable she got in other people’s houses when there wasn’t a party.

Erica had just got to The Marriot and the boys were saying their goodbyes. They had all exchanged numbers and planned to meet up during the next two weeks while the boys were still in town. Mike stayed in the passenger seat a few minutes longer. “About our day of hanging out?” He started “What time should I come over?”
Erica looked at him with a small smile upon her lips. She reached into the glove box to retrieve a pen and notepad. She wrote down her address and told Mike to get a cab there for about 2. He nodded, planted a small but sweet kiss on Erica’s lips and departed her car.

It was 1:50pm. Mike would be here soon and Erica still hadn’t bothered getting changed. She was in leggings and a baggy shirt. She decided she should probably shower and get dressed, even though she didn’t have long. Before she could even make it to the top of the stairs there was a knock at the door. Erica moaned to herself and went to attend it. When she opened the door she saw Mike standing there, looking rather nervous. Did she make him nervous?
She pulled him into an embrace then motioned for him to come in. He obliged, following her through to the kitchen. “Would you like a drink or something?” She was now the nervous one. “I’m good but thanks” He smiled slightly and returned to observing everything in Erica’s house, taking everything in.
“I’m just gonna take a shower and get dressed. I promise I’ll be quick. You got here early so I didn’t have time.” She had had 4 hours to get ready. She hoped he didn’t mind.
“Sure okay, I’ll just hang here for a bit” He said sitting on the couch. He didn’t mind. Erica handed him the television controller and told him to make himself at home.
About 15 minutes later Erica returned back downstairs. She was wearing skinny jeans and an old Star Wars t-shirt. Her hair was down and still a bit damp. She sat next to Mike on the couch. “So what do you want to do today?” She asked. “How about we start with this?” Mike said as he pulled out a joint. Erica smiled. She had been smoking marijuana since she was about 17. “Okay but we have to go upstairs because if my pops gets home and smells it down here he will not be happy” She replied and started walking to the stairs. Mike following suit. “Wait so you still live with your dad?” He giggled.“Yes, well technically he lives with me since I own this house. But I’m moving to Chicago before the end of the year so it won’t be for much longer.”
Erica had always wanted to live in Chicago. Ever since she was 11 and had done a school project on the city. Her father and she had gone there on holiday many times. It was her favourite place on earth. Erica’s plan was to move there and look for work in a tattoo shop somewhere in the heart of the city. She has a dual citizenship so she didn’t have to worry about a work visa or anything like that.
“Why Chicago?” Mike was curious about her even more now. They had made it to the loft, also known as Erica’s room. She had it converted into a bedroom when she was 7 and has always kept that room as hers. She loved it in there. “I did a school project on Chicago and kind of loved it. Because of that my dad and I went there on holiday a few times and I fell in love with it even more. I’ve wanted to live there ever since I visited there for the first time.” She had such a huge smile on her face. Mike could tell she was passionate about Chicago. He wanted to find out more about her. Learn what else she was passionate about. Discover everything that she loved, everything that she hated, the things that made her tick. He was so intrigued. Erica was beautiful and mysterious and he couldn’t wait to get to know her.
