Vic opened the door, "Hello there Iris! This is our bus! As you should know this is Jamie, mike, and Tony."
"Hey guys! I am Iris it is nice to meet you all." A chime of heys come after.
"So Iris you want a beer?" Tony asks
"ahh no need to be a straight ass but what if I have to go?"
"Iris, I will take you home if you need it." Vic explained,
"Alright Vic, I trust you."
Tony tosses me a can of beer, I catch it swiftly, "Nice catch!" Mike hollers at me, I nod at him.
Vic takes me to his bunk so we can talk alone. "So Iris, what is up with the marks on your wrists?" Vic asked me while checking that there was nobody around.
"Oh those, umm well I don't know... I just get so lonely and I *gulp* you know can't help it." I said while trying not to make eye contact with him.
"You don't deserve to have them, you are so lovely, I just can't believe you would do this to yourself. Please don't." Vic said while making me face him by holding my face towards his, he kisses the scars, cuts and burns on my skin.
"Okay, I will try, it just seems like people don't care about me anymore, even the girl I came with. Can we just talk about something else please?" I say while trying to hold back the tears. Vic gave me the best hug I have ever had and nods, "Where did you come from? And are you living on your own? Tell me everything."
"Riverside, and I am yes... I work as a psychologist I work with youth, they boy I work with now is named Owen and he is 15."
"A psychologist, what made you chose that job?" Vic asked with compassion and love.
"I never wanted anyone to feel the way I did at that age, and still now sometimes, I always feel like I need someone to talk to that job is emotionally draining."
"Never wanting others to feel the way you did? And if you ever need anyone to talk to here is my number and all of the other guys. But please don't give these to anyone else." Vic hands me all of the guys phone numbers and puts his arm around my shoulder and rubs my back.
"Thanks, I am kind of tired... I had a long day." I say with a sleepy voice,
"Alright, you can sleep in my bunk, I can sleep on the couch " I thought Vic was such a gentleman about everything.
"Do you have anything I can wear to bed? I don't have anything that I would like to wear." Vic grabs me a shirt of his and a pair of his boxers, "thanks vic." I get changed and head to the main area where everyone is sitting, I kiss them all on the cheeks and said good night. Vic tucked me in and asked if I needed anything, I said a hug. Vic gave me the most loving hug I have ever had, I said "I feel so loved here, thank you." I lied there for awhile until I fell asleep.
