~Tony’s POV~
I walked out of the shower and got dressed. I headed to my room but was stopped by Jesus.
“Hey Tone. We are going to go get some breakfast. You coming?”
“Oh sure.”
“Ok we’ll wait for you downstairs.” I finished the walk to my room and finished getting ready. I walked down the stairs and met up with Kari and Jesus. I waved to Kari as we walked out the door and towards the car. I sat in the backseat as we drove to IHOP. We arrived and walked towards the door. I held it open for Kari and Jesus. We sat down and waited a bit before a waitress came.
“What will you be having today?” she asked looking to Kari.
“Umm I think I’ll have two chocolate chip pancakes.”
“Ok,” the waitress said as she wrote it down. She looked over to me, “And what will your boyfriend be having?”
“Oh he’s not my boyfriend.” Kari lied nervously.
“Oh well that's interesting.” She gave me a mischievous smile. I told her that I would have the same as Kari. She moved on to Jesus and left. She returned a few minutes later with our food. She handed me mine and ‘accidentally’ touched my hand. I was starting to get a bit uncomfortable. “You come here often?” she asked touching my arm. I could sense Kari getting tense besides me.
“Don’t you have work to do Rachel?” she said looking at the waitress’s name tag.
“Actually I’m off at eleven if you want to hang out.” she said ignoring Kari and looking to me.
“Well that’s not for another three hours so bye.” Jesus and I both looked at Kari in disbelief. I gently touched her hand as a sign for her to calm down.
“Kari are you ok?” I said to Kari.
“Perfectly fine.” She said through clenched teeth.
“Well no need to be rude.” The waitress said with attitude as she turned around and left.
“What was that all about?” Jesus asked Kari when the waitress was out of sight.
“Nothing just trying to help someone not get fired.” Kari said as she began to aggressively pick at her food. She ate in silence not making any sort of contact with any one. We finished eating and made our way towards the car.
“I’m going to drop you guys off at the house. I need to go check on the construction since we haven’t worked since I left. ” Jesus told us. I nodded and Kari just continued to look out the window. We got home and Kari and walked inside as her dad drove off.
As soon as we stepped foot in the house, Kari said “I’m never going back to IHOP ever again.”
“Why? I thought you loved pancakes.”
“Because the waitresses are a bunch of whores!”
“Looks like someone is a little jealous.” I teased.
“I’m not jealous she just needs to be doing her work instead of hitting on my boyfriend.”
“That’s called jealousy.” I said laughing a little.
“I’m not jealous!”
“Aww it’s ok to be jealous. You look adorable when you’re mad.”
“No I don’t.” she said crossing her arms as she pouted. I walked over and hugged her. She sighed. “I’m sorry.” She said as she hugged me back.
“It’s ok.” I leaned down and kissed her. The front door swung open. Kari freaked out and bit my lip. I winced in pain.
“What happened?” Jesus asked as he walked in and saw me clutching my face.
“Nothing just bit myself.”
“I’ll go get you some ice.” Kari said trying to leave the room.
“I’ll go with you.” I said as I walked behind her. Jesus gave us a confused look as we both left. We entered the kitchen and Kari opened the freezer door as she reached her hand in and grabbed ice placing it in a small plastic bag. “You’ve got to stop hurting me every time your dad walks in.” I said tasting my own blood.
“I know I’m sorry I just freaked out.” she said as she handed me the bag.
